Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee Le Hong Quang chaired the provincial bridge. Also attending were Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung; Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc and leaders of provincial departments and branches, and contractors.
According to the Ministry of Construction, the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway construction investment project phase 1 is divided into 4 component projects. To date, site clearance has been 99% completed. Component project 1 (An Giang province) has achieved 46% of its output, meeting requirements; Component project 2 (Can Tho city) has achieved 25% of its output, 15% behind schedule; Component project 3 (Hau Giang province) has achieved 35% of its output, meeting requirements; Component project 4 (Soc Trang province) has achieved 25% of its output, 8% behind schedule.

Reporting to the Prime Minister, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung said that in An Giang, the total progress (of all 4 construction packages) of Component Project 1 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Construction Investment Project has so far reached 46.73%/46.44%, exceeding the planned progress by about 0.29%. The project's disbursement progress has so far reached VND 276.2 billion/VND 3,449 billion, reaching a rate of 8%.
The province has handed over 100% of the site. In the work of supplying construction materials for the highway project, the People's Committee of An Giang province has always strictly implemented the instructions of the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha. Focusing on solutions to ensure the supply of sand and stone materials for the project. The project management board and contractors have been requested to focus on solutions to deploy "3 shifts, 4 shifts", the provincial leaders regularly inspect and urge contractors.
At the same time, difficulties in sand materials have been resolved, providing them directly to contractors. The province has worked with contractors to strive to complete component 1 of the project in 2025 as directed by the Prime Minister. Particularly, regarding difficulties in sand reserves, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a document directing to resolve them, increase the exploitation capacity by 5% of the material supply; along with construction solutions to speed up progress.

The four contractors implementing Component 1 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Construction Investment Project through An Giang province also pledged to the Prime Minister to make efforts to speed up construction progress and ensure compliance with the plan.

Concluding the meeting, the Prime Minister requested that Party committees and authorities at all levels of the Mekong Delta provinces, the four provinces of An Giang, Hau Giang, Soc Trang, and Can Tho City, take part more strongly, actively, and with a higher sense of responsibility. Strengthen inspection, urging, supervision, and encouragement of contractors, considering this a key task of the province. Party committee secretaries and authorities at all levels take part more strongly, more effectively, coordinate more, and require the participation of the entire political system. Contractors should be more proactive and flexible, ensuring progress, quality, and environmental safety, in the spirit of harmonious benefits, shared risks, and no loss of state and people's assets.
The Prime Minister requested that, in the spirit of responsibility for the common interests of the nation and the country, Party committees, authorities at all levels, and construction contractors need to strengthen their sense of responsibility, resolutely speed up the progress, work in "3 shifts, 4 shifts", work during the day if not enough, take advantage of working at night, and complete the project by June 2026.
