Representatives of Samaritan 's Purse Vietnam and project team leaders attended the conference to evaluate the implementation results of the Tra Vinh Livelihood Project, phase 2024 - 2025.

Attending the conference were comrades: Le Van Dong, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tra Vinh; Phan Thi Thanh Binh, Vice President of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Tra Vinh province; Ms. Emily Clare Caudwell, Senior Program Manager of Samaritan 's Purse; Ms. Nhu Nguyen An Linh, Project Manager of Samaritan 's Purse, South and representatives of the People's Committees of communes where the project was implemented in Cang Long, Tra Cu, Cau Ngang, Duyen Hai, Cau Ke districts...

In phase IV (2024 - 2025), Tra Vinh Livelihood Project invested in 70 households in Binh Phu and Huyen Hoi communes (Cang Long district) to raise cows according to the cooperative model (including 45 Sind crossbred breeding cows; 25 fattening cows). In addition to training and technology transfer, the project supports planting materials, grass cuttings; funding for barn construction; establishment of cooperatives in raising cows...

According to comrade Le Van Dong, Deputy Director of Tra Vinh Department of Agriculture and Environment, after more than 4 years of implementation in phases I, II, III (from 2021 - 2024) and phase IV (2024 - 2025), the Tra Vinh Livelihood Project was supported by Samaritan 's Purse Vietnam with more than 16.7 billion VND for 309 households to benefit through projects supporting fattening cattle; greenhouses; beekeeping for honey (with a budget of more than 10 billion VND) and supporting 1,563 people in remote areas to use clean tap water (with a budget of more than 6.7 billion VND).

The project has created a great spread in people's awareness of environmental sanitation in livestock farming, awareness of household financial management, market connection, increased livelihoods from the greenhouse vegetable growing model, etc., contributing significantly to improving livelihoods, reducing poverty, and improving the lives of people in the Khmer ethnic minority area.

Delegates visited and viewed pictures of the project's performance in supporting beneficiary households.

At the conference, delegates shared new findings in the process of implementing and carrying out the project in the next phase; focusing on 05 areas: clean water, environmental sanitation and personal hygiene (WASH); public health and nutrition; protection (gender equality, child/youth protection); agriculture and livelihoods; education.

In the period of 2025 - 2027, it is recommended that Samaritan 's Purse Vietnam continue to pay attention, support and accompany the province with the project "Community transformation for adaptation and development"; the total estimated implementation cost is 14 billion, with the main partners being the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Tra Vinh Center for Disease Control (CDC.TV) participating in the project.
