On the afternoon of October 25, in Hanoi, the Seminar "Opportunities for cooperation and investment in Quang Ngai province" took place, within the framework of the Quang Ngai Introduction Conference.
Attending the seminar were Mr. Vo Phien, Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Ha Hoang Viet Phuong, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks; Mr. Tan Yit Liang, General Director of VSIP Quang Ngai Co., Ltd.; and representatives of domestic enterprises and international partners.
Speaking at the Seminar, Mr. Vo Phien affirmed that Quang Ngai has an important strategic position in the economic development of the Central region and the whole country. In 2022, with a gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of 121.34 trillion VND, Quang Ngai will rank 2nd out of 5 provinces in the Central key economic region, 4th out of 14 provinces in the North Central and Central Coast regions, and 18th out of 63 provinces and cities.
The province has a synchronous transportation system, favorable for investment development, such as the expressway connecting Da Nang - Quang Ngai, National Highway 24 connecting the Central Highlands and Southern Laos provinces, Chu Lai airport, Dung Quat deep-water seaport... All contribute to making Quang Ngai an important gateway for the import and export of domestic and foreign goods.
Quang Ngai is an area with many leading industrial parks and economic zones in the country. In particular, Dung Quat Economic Zone is planned with an area of over 45,000 hectares, is one of the 5 coastal economic zones that the Government prioritizes for infrastructure investment and has the highest incentive policies in the country at present.

Regarding the situation of economic zones and industrial parks in the province, Mr. Ha Hoang Viet Phuong said that Dung Quat Economic Zone is making great strides in development, being considered as the center of industrial production and the driving force for socio-economic development of Quang Ngai and the key economic region of the Central region.
In the coming time, Dung Quat Economic Zone Management Board will focus on attracting advantageous sectors such as: petrochemical and refining industry, energy (electricity, renewable energy), auto parts manufacturing, high-tech industry; industrial - urban - service zones, supporting industrial zones, specialized industrial zones, ecological industrial zones; international-class coastal and island eco-tourism and resort areas.
Regarding the issue of connecting markets and officially exporting local agricultural products, especially dried areca nuts, Quang Ngai provincial leaders called on foreign enterprises, if there are suitable conditions, to boldly invest in these products to increase investment value.
In addition, products must have a growing area code before being officially exported. To facilitate this, in the coming time, the Quang Ngai Department of Agriculture will work with cooperatives to promote the issue of growing area codes.

General Director of VSIP Quang Ngai Co., Ltd. Tan Yit Liang shared that VSIP Group has been operating in Vietnam for 27 years. Started in 2013, VSIP Quang Ngai Urban and Industrial Complex is the fifth project of VSIP Group in Vietnam.
After 10 years of development, VSIP Quang Ngai has built infrastructure for 34 customers from more than 10 countries and territories (USA, Belgium, Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines...), with a total value of more than 1 billion USD, creating jobs for about 28,000 workers.
With the strong support of the government and people, VSIP II Quang Ngai project is being planned with a total area of 497 hectares with the orientation of a green, smart and sustainable industrial park.
In the future, VSIP Quang Ngai is committed to sustainable development to affirm its leading position in attracting and developing investment infrastructure in the Central region, creating employment, education and living opportunities for Vietnamese people.
At the Conference, leaders of Quang Ngai province, departments, branches, associations and business associations exchanged, discussed and proposed effective and practical solutions to overcome difficulties, support businesses to operate stably, seek markets, promote exports of key products, call for investment... in the coming time.
The Quang Ngai Introduction Conference on October 25, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, is an important event, creating an opportunity for Quang Ngai to propose and call for aid from diplomatic agencies, international organizations, foreign non-governmental organizations, business associations, economic groups, investors, domestic and foreign enterprises operating in Vietnam. |
