On October 10, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province announced that Chairman of the People's Committee Le Van Dung had signed a decision to declare an emergency situation regarding the situation of land cracking and subsidence occurring in village 56B, Dac Pre commune (Nam Giang district).

According to the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, due to the impact of heavy rain from September 17-19, in village 56B, Dac Pre commune, cracks and subsidence of land occurred in an arc shape on the top of the hill in Dac Pre commune. The length of the crack is about 125m, the gap is 1m and at some points about 1.5m.

Given the current state of the cracks and the serious impact on the safety of life and property of the people of village 56B, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Chairman of the Nam Giang District People's Committee to continue implementing urgent measures to respond in order to prevent and minimize damage, ensuring safety for the people.

Mr. Dung requested Nam Giang district to mobilize forces, vehicles, and resources to quickly evacuate and relocate people from dangerous areas.

At the same time, put up warning signs, cordon off the area and arrange guards to guide people and vehicles to ensure safety on the route. Provide free food and essential necessities to people.

In particular, the organization conducted a survey, evaluated and selected the location and plan to build a resettlement area for 11 households with more than 40 affected people.

Previously, on September 21, Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung inspected the hill and requested people to be evacuated to a safe place.
