The program was organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in coordination with the Office of the Standing Agency of the National Steering Committee for Overcoming the Consequences of Post-War Bombs, Mines and Toxic Chemicals in Vietnam (Office 701), and the Military Radio and Television Center.

Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission attended and directed, with the participation of Mr. Tran Hong Ha, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Rinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.
Speaking at the program, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission, sent her warm regards, shared and deeply sympathized with the pain that Agent Orange victims and their families had to endure, and wished that Agent Orange victims always have faith and joy in life.
Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai said that over the years, our Party and State have always paid attention, led, directed, and had many policies and strategies to address the consequences of Agent Orange.
The above policies and plans are integrated with strategies, plans, programs for socio-economic development from the central to local levels, and have been led, directed, and implemented by central ministries, branches, organizations, Party committees, and authorities at all levels, achieving important results.
Activities to overcome the consequences of Agent Orange/dioxin, care for and help victims of Agent Orange, and implement environmental pollution treatment projects have been actively carried out, with the participation of the entire political system and the entire population.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai acknowledged and commended the Party committees, authorities at all levels, agencies, organizations, businesses, philanthropists, people from all walks of life in the country and our compatriots abroad for their many contributions in caring for, helping and nurturing victims of Agent Orange.
The Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization also commended the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin for their efforts and solidarity in overcoming difficulties, fulfilling the tasks assigned by the Party and State, caring for, helping and fighting for justice for victims of Agent Orange. He also commended the collectives and individuals, the “Golden Hearts” who always accompany and help victims and many typical examples of Agent Orange victims who have overcome difficulties and illnesses, risen up to integrate into the community and also contributed to helping people in similar situations.
In the coming time, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai hopes that domestic organizations, individuals, international friends, and people of countries around the world will continue to accompany humanity, for peace and justice, join hands to ease the pain of Agent Orange and prevent chemical warfare from happening in the future; the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin will continue to closely coordinate with all levels and sectors to organize the Month of Action for Agent Orange victims to achieve the best results.
Sharing at the program, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Rinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, said that the program "Lighting the Fire of Faith" and launching the Month of Action for Victims of Agent Orange in 2023 aims to widely propagate and raise public awareness of the severe consequences of toxic chemicals during the war in Vietnam; affirm the attention of the Party, State, political system, and the support and assistance of international friends in overcoming the consequences of toxic chemicals/dioxin; at the same time, commend and express gratitude to domestic and foreign organizations and individuals who always accompany and care for and help victims.
The General emphasized: “The war has ended nearly 50 years ago, but the consequences of toxic chemicals/dioxin are still long-lasting, the lives of many victims and their families are still very difficult. Deeply aware of the consequences of toxic chemicals on the environment and human health, the Party and State have paid attention and issued many policies and guidelines for victims of Agent Orange.
The struggle for justice for Agent Orange victims continues to be carried out persistently, in accordance with the foreign policy of the Party and State in the new situation."
According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, implementing the direction of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization, recently, provinces and cities have actively directed and implemented the Month of Action for Victims of Agent Orange; many organizations and individuals have registered and supported the Agent Orange Victims Fund with a total amount of hundreds of billions of VND.
The program includes activities such as screening reports on the attention of the Party, State, levels, sectors, the coordination and contribution of domestic and foreign agencies, organizations and individuals "Joining hands to ease the pain of Agent Orange"; exchanges with typical examples, gratitude to businesses, organizations and individuals who have accompanied and supported victims of Agent Orange; art programs with Vietnamese and English songs, showing that Vietnam is always actively cultivating and contributing to peace, while lighting the flame of belief for victims of Agent Orange in a better future.

At the event, delegates from agencies and units pressed the button to launch the website of the National Action Center for Overcoming the Consequences of Toxic Chemicals and the Environment (NACCET), to promptly inform about the efforts of Vietnam and peace-loving friends around the world in overcoming the consequences of toxic chemicals after the war on the environment and people.
Through the program, the Organizing Committee hopes that all levels, sectors, socio-political organizations and people will continue to promote the Movement "Action for Agent Orange victims", care for and provide both material and spiritual support, so that Agent Orange victims can ease their pain and gradually stabilize their lives. At the same time, it calls on the US Government and people and international organizations to continue to support and help Vietnam overcome the consequences of toxic chemicals and join hands to ease the pain of Agent Orange.
