Promoting tourism in Khanh Hoa province in the Russian Federation

Most Russian tourists coming to Vietnam go to Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa because they love the beaches here as well as feel the hospitality of the city's people.

On March 11, in Moscow, the Khanh Hoa province tourism promotion conference took place to promote the province's tourism potential in the Russian Federation.

Attending the conference were Vietnamese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi; Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Khanh Hoa province; Mr. Tran Hoa Nam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, representatives of the Moscow city government, departments and branches of Khanh Hoa province, along with over 130 representatives of Russian enterprises and Khanh Hoa province.

Speaking at the conference, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi said that the friendly cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation over the years has had a connection between the people of the two countries, in which tourism plays an important role. Many Russians are familiar with Vietnamese restaurants and cuisine in major cities of Russia, and many people have even opened Vietnamese restaurants after traveling to Vietnam...

According to Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi, Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa is a special tourist destination in the hearts of Russian tourists. Most Russian tourists coming to Vietnam come to Nha Trang because they love the beaches and feel the hospitality of the city's people. At Nha Trang's tourist facilities, Russian is very popular. Russian culture is also very close to Vietnam. It can be said that when coming to Vietnam, Russian tourists will feel the friendliness and closeness.

Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi emphasized that the support of the two countries' governments with many preferential policies such as visa exemption for Russian citizens, as well as the restoration of direct flights from Moscow and many Russian localities to Nha Trang in March this year and to Hanoi in early May are favorable conditions for tourism development.

Mr. Tran Hoa Nam, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said that the Khanh Hoa Tourism Promotion Conference in the Russian Federation aims to introduce Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa to Russian businesses and partners, provide information about the potential, strengths, development policies, destinations, tourism products and services of the province, as well as create conditions for Khanh Hoa businesses to meet and exchange with Russian businesses, aiming to expand business cooperation for the common development of both sides in the coming time.

Khanh Hoa is a major tourist center of Vietnam and Southeast Asia, possessing rare marine and island resources with a long coastline, many scenic spots, unique and rich historical and cultural values, special festivals and events, friendly people and favorable climate conditions.

In recent years, the province has been promoting regional cooperation and tourism product linkage to exploit reasonably and effectively the advantages of tourism resources with specific characteristics of each locality in order to diversify tourism products in the region; at the same time, focusing on strengthening the management of the tourism environment, security and order, and safety for tourists in order to build Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa as a "safe, attractive, quality and friendly" destination.

In 2025, with the goal of expanding the market, attracting international tourists from new markets to Nha Trang, and at the same time promoting the recovery of traditional international tourist markets, Khanh Hoa province's tourism industry will strengthen the implementation of promotional activities in many countries, of which the 2025 Conference in the Russian Federation is one of the important events of the province.

It is known that in 2019, an estimated 462,972 Russian tourists visited Khanh Hoa province, which was the second largest international tourist market of the province at that time. However, under the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of tourists from Russia to Khanh Hoa decreased sharply in the following years.

By 2024, the number of Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa has recovered strongly, estimated at 105,513 arrivals, an increase of 206% over the same period last year.

At the Conference, the Organizing Committee showed a clip promoting Khanh Hoa tourism. Many Russian businesses in attendance expressed interest in tourism service facilities, the time to resume direct flights, and payment methods for Russian tourists.

Enterprises from Vietnam have booths to introduce information and promotional publications about each unit's products and services and to exchange and cooperate with Russian tourism enterprises. The B2B exchange session between enterprises of both sides took place enthusiastically, promising a strong return of Russian tourists in the upcoming tourist season.

Within the framework of the working trip, on March 10, the delegation of Khanh Hoa province visited and worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation.
