In order to effectively enhance professional performing arts activities to serve society, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue a decision regulating the decentralization of state management tasks on performing arts activities in Quang Tri province; implementing Circular No. 02/2024/TT-BVHTTDL, dated June 17, 2024 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on regulations on standards and conditions for considering promotion of professional titles of civil servants specializing in libraries, cultural heritage, grassroots culture, cultural propagandists, fine arts, performing arts and cinema.

In 2018, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province issued Decision No. 2102/QD-UBND on reorganizing the Quang Tri Art Troupe into the Quang Tri Traditional Art Troupe. This is the best condition for Quang Tri to preserve and promote traditional national art combined with contemporary art forms, creating many high-quality works, demonstrating the creativity and uniqueness of local traditional art.

Currently, the Provincial Traditional Arts Troupe has 20 actors, including 18 career staff and 2 contract actors. Based on the assigned functions and tasks, the Provincial Traditional Arts Troupe has developed an art program to serve the political tasks of the province and participates in performances to generate revenue for the unit, meeting the targets assigned by the State. Professional art activities in the province have developed significantly. The province has focused on investing in training young generations of actors; equipment systems serving the performance work are supplemented and strengthened every year...

The team of artists and actors always closely follow the actual situation of the locality to create many art programs of singing - dancing - music, magic, promptly serving the political tasks and the people in the province, participating in competitions, performances, national professional art festivals, performing in many countries around the world, winning many medals. Building programs to serve the political tasks of major holidays, important events of the homeland and country, celebrating the Party - celebrating the new spring and foreign exchanges; organizing street art performances every Saturday night...

In addition, the troupe also builds performance programs to generate revenue for the unit. In 2024 alone, the troupe will stage 30 programs, 92 new acts; 25 programs, 130 acts will be revised and improved. Organize 55 performances (as of December 4, 2024), with an audience of more than 30,000 people. Revenue will reach more than 631 million VND.

The Provincial Traditional Arts Troupe focuses on promoting the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values of the nation. Organizing the collection and research of folk songs and developing repertoires and art programs that harmoniously combine tradition and modernity, preserving and promoting national cultural identity, integrating performances into art programs serving political performances, thereby contributing to preserving, promoting and promoting the traditional cultural values of the locality.

In particular, in 2024, the Provincial Traditional Art Troupe participated in the "2024 National Music and Dance Festival - Phase 2" and achieved many achievements, specifically: Silver medal for the entire group, certificate of merit from the Vietnam Dance Artists Association for the dance team with excellent achievements at the festival; certificate of merit from the Vietnam Musicians Association for excellent composers and arrangers; 2 gold medals, 3 silver medals, ranked 7th out of 24 participating professional art units.

Besides the achieved results, the activities of the Provincial Traditional Art Troupe still face some difficulties such as: human resources, especially the number of actors is still thin and lacking, not meeting the quantity and quality of a professional traditional art unit.

The current cast is mostly older, so it is difficult to meet professional requirements. The budget for artistic activities is still low, so many programs require large scale and high quality, so the unit has to contract to hire additional actors from outside to meet the requirements, which directly affects the unit's revenue accumulation. Annual training budget and targets are limited, so the number of staff and actors who receive training and development to improve their professional, technical and specialized qualifications is still too small.

Overcoming difficulties and limitations, in the coming time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will direct and orient the Provincial Traditional Art Troupe to continue to strengthen the implementation of the organization of performing arts activities in the province. Conduct inspections, checks, and promptly detect violations related to performing arts activities.

Organize propaganda, build and practice art programs according to plan to serve the political tasks of the homeland and country well, celebrate the major holidays in 2025. Carry out professional cultural and artistic activities towards the grassroots; improve the quality of art, focusing on performance programs serving compatriots in revolutionary areas, remote areas, especially difficult areas, towards the border areas and islands of the homeland.

Develop a plan to restore traditional arts associated with the system of intangible and tangible culture. Continue to collect, research, and compose folk melodies, songs, and new works to contribute to preserving and promoting the spiritual and cultural values of the homeland, especially traditional values. Every year, organize a preliminary and final review to commend and reward collectives and individuals with many achievements, and at the same time replicate typical models and good practices to learn from and gain experience.
