At 8:00 a.m., Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga (My Dinh 1 Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi) struggled to get past the electric pole blocking the middle of lane 180 Dinh Thon. The pole was covered with cables and electric meters blocking the middle of the road, posing a potential risk of causing traffic accidents in a crowded residential area.
"The alley 180 is already narrow, and the electric pole in the middle makes it even more difficult to move. Many drivers, unable to distinguish between lanes, drive into the lane reserved for people going in the opposite direction. One day, a truck carrying goods encroached on the lane and almost caused an accident for people," said Ms. Nga.
According to the records, the electric pole above divides lane 180 Dinh Thon into two lanes, one wide, one narrow. During rush hour, this section of the road is often congested. Many cars have to encroach on the next lane and go the opposite way to get through this area.
Electric poles blocking the road are not uncommon in Hanoi. On many other streets, this situation still exists, causing many inconveniences to people's lives.
On Ngoc Hoi Street (Thanh Tri District), a row of electric poles stretching for kilometers has existed for a long time. On the poles, there are a large number of electric wires and network cables hanging over the heads of passersby.
On this route, every time you look up, it is not difficult to see electric wires and cables tangled overhead. From a distance, the road is a mess of electric poles and high-voltage lamp posts, the tangled system of wires spread out like a "spider web".
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Minh (40 years old, residing in Ngoc Hoi commune, Thanh Tri district) shared: "I often go to work through this Ngoc Hoi route. The row of electric poles not only spoils the urban beauty but also poses many potential dangers to road users."
According to Mr. Minh, at night, it is very easy for road users to go the wrong way on Ngoc Hoi Street. If someone is not focused, they can easily go the wrong way, causing an accident.
On Trieu Khuc Street (Thanh Xuan District), the image of an electric pole blocking the turn into alley 66B is no longer strange to the people here. In addition to supporting a tangled bundle of electric wires, this electric pole has also become the place to place dozens of advertising signs of all kinds, from motels to beauty salons.
Mr. Le Ngoc Canh (56 years old) said he had witnessed a number of minor collisions at the electric pole in the middle of the turn into lane 66B Trieu Khuc. "At night, vehicles cannot see the electric pole, so collisions are likely to occur," said Mr. Canh.
In addition, right at the beginning of lane 97 Trieu Khuc, there is an electric pole in the middle of the road, making it difficult to travel.
