Quickly stabilize production, provide enough coal for customers

On September 18, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group Ngo Hoang Ngan inspected the recovery work from storm No. 3 and the production and business situation at coal warehouses of the Northern Coal Trading Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin and the Coal Import-Export Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin in Bac Ninh, Hai Duong and Hai Phong provinces. Accompanying the delegation were the KDT Board, the Group Office and leaders of related units.
According to the report of the Northern Coal Trading Joint Stock Company, following the Group's instructions and thanks to good work in preventing and responding to storm No. 3 and heavy rain, the Duc Long coal warehouses (Que Vo - Bac Ninh), Kim Thanh (Kinh Mon - Hai Duong) and Tan Duc coal warehouses (Thuy Nguyen - Hai Phong) were not much affected. After storm No. 3 and the rain after the storm, the coal warehouses have stabilized normal production, except for the Duc Long coal warehouse in Que Vo, Bac Ninh, which is in the Luc Dau Giang area, affected by the rivers Song Cau, Song Thuong, Song Luc Nam, Song Thai Binh, Song Duong, so the water has risen to the coal warehouses. However, up to now, the water has receded from the warehouse, the unit is focusing on cleaning and checking to consolidate and repair the machinery and equipment system to continue delivering coal to the households of Pha Lai Thermal Power Plant and Dam Ha Bac as planned.

As of September 16, Duc Long coal warehouse sold 587,000 tons of coal to TKV , equal to 575% of the annual plan; Kim Thanh coal warehouse sold over 1 million tons, equal to 86% of the annual plan; Tan Duc coal warehouse sold over 800,000 tons, equal to 80% of the annual plan.

Regarding Gia Duc 02 coal warehouse (Thuy Nguyen - Hai Phong) under the management of Vinacomin Coal Import-Export Joint Stock Company (Coalimex), the unit said that the warehouse system was designed according to the Group's standards and is located in a safe area and is not affected when the river water level rises. There were landslides between the coal piles, however, the volume of coal that was washed away was in the ditches and coal collection pits, so immediately after the storm ended, the unit proceeded to clear the drainage ditches and collect the coal that was washed away in the coal collection pits. Coalimex leaders said that in 2024, the Company's plan was to assign Hai Phong Station to blend 1.93 million tons for thermal power plants. Implemented in the first 9 months of the year, it is expected to reach 1.37 million tons, equivalent to 70.9% of the yearly plan (assigned to Hai Phong, Vinh Tan 2, Duyen Hai 1, Vung Ang, Thang Long Thermal Power Plants). It is expected that in the fourth quarter, TKV will blend and deliver about 562,000 tons to thermal power plants.

Directly inspecting and directing at the scene, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group Ngo Hoang Ngan highly appreciated the damage recovery work after storm No. 3 of the units, especially at the coal warehouses of the units in the provinces of Bac Ninh, Hai Duong and Hai Phong, ensuring the safety of the amount of coal not lost due to storms and rains. At the same time, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group Ngo Hoang Ngan directed the units to continue to inspect, dredge and strengthen the drainage system after rain; regularly check the tarpaulin covering work at the units' coal warehouses to promptly cover and ensure no landslides or coal drift when heavy rains occur; check and evaluate the status of machinery, equipment, workshops, camera surveillance systems, and electrical systems to ensure safety during work; focus on implementing well the work of industrial hygiene, environmental hygiene in the area, cleaning up the scene after storms and rains; timely encourage and support employees at warehouses, stations and areas affected by storm No. 3, quickly stabilize production, prepare coal types with quality and quantity, meet enough coal for thermal power plants and customers, complete the production and business plan for 2024.

Workers continue to check and cover coal warehouses with tarpaulins to ensure safety.

Production activities at coal warehouses have returned to normal.
