According to Giao Thong Newspaper's reporter, on the first day of the new year, at the resettlement area of Dung Cam - Huu Nghi village in the territory of Nong Truong Viet Trung town, dozens of households have completed construction, in time to celebrate the Lunar New Year in their new houses.

Quang Binh has 26 resettlement areas under the North-South expressway project, with a total area of 69.13 hectares.

On the new, straight asphalt roads, the faces of the households welcoming the first Tet in their new homes were radiant with excitement. The roads were decorated with flags and fans; flashing lights were placed in front of each house, making the resettlement area look like an urban area in the city.

Mr. Cao Van Minh, the owner of the villa that is in the final stages of completion, worth approximately 2 billion VND, shared that doing it all at once is difficult, so everyone tries to invest in a decent, comfortable house to meet the needs of long-term living.

People happily celebrate the traditional New Year in modernly designed houses.

In addition to the compensation for land clearance, the resettled households here all have a fairly stable source of income from rubber exploitation and livestock farming, so although things may be a bit difficult at first, their lives will quickly stabilize.

“My house that was demolished to make way for the North-South Expressway was also a newly built house, quite impressive. So when we moved here, my wife and I were determined to build a new house that was bigger, more beautiful, and more modern. Life has to develop more!”, Mr. Minh said excitedly.

Happy because people celebrate Tet in a new place better than the old place

Similarly, in Quang Thach commune, Quang Trach district, there is 1 resettlement area for 25 households, of which 6 households have come to build new houses, 1 household has completed construction and moved into the new house in early November 2024 and 3 households are in the process of completing the project and have moved in before Tet.

The synchronous infrastructure system of resettlement areas contributes to changing the face of the countryside.

In this resettlement area, the family of Ms. Nguyen Anh Hong (34 years old) has also completed a new, spacious 2-storey house with a cost of about 1.2 billion VND.

"Thanks to building the house early, my family now has a new house to live in, in time for Tet, so we are very happy," Ms. Hong shared.

Near Ms. Phuong's house, the family of Ms. Bui Thi Hien (65 years old) has also completed a new level 4 house worth more than 1 billion VND, including full furniture and a solemn ancestral altar.

“I really like the high, airy resettlement area with electricity, roads, and a full drainage system. I am very happy and excited to celebrate Tet in my new house,” Ms. Hien shared.

People are excited to celebrate the traditional New Year in a new place that is better than the old place.

Among the resettlement areas of the expressway project, perhaps the largest is the Dung Cam - Huu Nghi resettlement area. Here, up to 94 households in the resettlement area are allocated land for housing. In addition, a part of the land area has been planned by the district to form a large residential area in the future, with synchronous infrastructure.

Mr. Hoang Minh Trung, Vice Chairman of Viet-Trung Farm Town, said that the town has two large-scale resettlement areas: Dung Cam - Huu Nghi resettlement area with 94 households and Quyet Tien resettlement area with 36 households. The infrastructure invested by the State is as modern as real estate projects, the road system, lighting, drainage are synchronized according to the planning and especially the people's houses are very spacious...

“Most of the households have finished building new houses in time to celebrate Tet in the resettlement area. Seeing people excited and eager to welcome the new year in their new place, we are also happy,” Mr. Trung shared.
