Before the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday, Mr. Do Dinh Dao, Principal of Nguyen Huu Tho High School (District 4, Ho Chi Minh City), sent 11 messages to the students of the whole school.
Accordingly, students need to do “5 no’s”, “4 needs” and “2 useful things”. First of all, they must not receive, disseminate, view or share reactionary content on social networks; must not have extreme actions leading to fights causing injuries; must not use fireworks; must not participate in any form of gambling and must not violate traffic laws.
Regarding necessary things, students need to be careful when going sightseeing and traveling with family and friends; ensure food safety during Tet; strengthen disease prevention; ensure health during Tet. Regarding two useful things, students enjoy spring but do not forget the task of reviewing knowledge; at the same time, help their families prepare for Tet such as cleaning, decorating the house, cooking, and serving food to ancestors. In particular, on the occasion of the New Year, students do not forget to show filial piety and wish a happy new year to grandparents, parents, relatives, friends...
Another way, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Khang, Principal of the Marie Curie School System (Hanoi), sent an open letter to all teachers in the school. According to the content of the open letter, the head of the school hopes that teachers will not assign homework to students during Tet. The above cute request has been persistently implemented by the school for the past 12 years with the desire to bring students a comfortable, peaceful and happy Tet holiday with their families. This teacher said that the Tet holiday is not too long for students to forget their knowledge. Meanwhile, this is an opportunity for students to rest and reunite with their families, and there should be no pressure about schoolwork.
In addition, with the wish that students become better versions of themselves than yesterday, Mr. Do Duc Anh, Literature teacher, Bui Thi Xuan High School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) sent a message: "This new year, be kind to yourself, always think positively, spread good things, do not pay attention to sad and painful things and live a valuable life."
This is also the message that teachers want to send to many generations of students so that they can become useful citizens, develop comprehensively in skills, knowledge, ethics, and lifestyle; and contribute to the task of building and developing the country.
