Principal slow to restore benefits to employees disciplined incorrectly

(NLDO) - Although the District People's Committee has concluded and directed that the rights of the accountant who was disciplined in violation of regulations must be restored, the principal has not yet implemented it.


On March 27, Ms. Truong Thi Thuy (born in 1986, accounting officer of Tran Phu Primary School (Ia Krel Commune, Duc Co District, Gia Lai Province) said that she continued to send a petition to the People's Committee of Duc Co District requesting to restore her legal rights and interests due to being disciplined by the principal in violation of regulations.

On October 10, 2024, Mr. Hoang Danh Long, Principal of Tran Phu Primary School, signed Decision No. 23/QD-TP (Decision 23) to discipline and force Ms. Thuy to quit her job. On February 12, the People's Committee of Duc Co District issued a decision to resolve the complaint, concluding that the Principal of Tran Phu Primary School's disciplinary action to force Ms. Thuy to quit her job was not sufficient, the decision to force her to quit her job must be annulled and her legitimate rights and interests must be restored.

Ms. Truong Thi Thuy is being treated at K Hospital, Tan Trieu facility, Hanoi City.

On March 3, Mr. Hoang Danh Long decided to cancel Decision 23, the reason being that the disciplinary action was not carried out in accordance with the procedure. However, up to now, Ms. Thuy has not had her legitimate rights and interests restored according to the decision of the Duc Co District People's Committee.

According to Ms. Thuy, since being disciplined and forced to quit her job, she has not received her salary and holiday bonuses. "The fact that the Board of Directors and Principal of Tran Phu Primary School have not restored my legal rights and interests is an inhumane act, not following the direction of the People's Committee of Duc Co district, seriously affecting my legal rights and interests," Ms. Thuy said.

At the meeting between the parties on March 24, Ms. Thuy requested to be paid full salary and benefits and restored to her position according to regulations.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hoang Danh Long approved some payments to Ms. Thuy. In addition, he requested Ms. Thuy to provide documents and papers for the school to settle the finances.

However, Ms. Thuy was not reinstated as an accountant but was assigned by Mr. Hoang Danh Long to work in the school office. Currently, Ms. Thuy's previous work has been assigned to someone else.

Regarding this matter, Ms. Thuy did not agree to accept the office assignment because she had not restored the accounting assignment as directed by the Duc Co District People's Committee and previous recruitment and assignment documents.

Being treated at K Hospital

According to Ms. Truong Thi Thuy, for many months now she has been receiving inpatient treatment at K Hospital, Tan Trieu facility, Hanoi. Being disciplined and forced to quit her job, and having her insurance cut off, has cost her a lot of money in medical examination and treatment and travel expenses. Therefore, at the recent meeting, in addition to requiring Mr. Hoang Danh Long to compensate for his honor and spirit caused by the illegal disciplinary action, he must also pay for medical examination and treatment expenses due to the fact that his health insurance was cut off during this time.
