Corruption is an 'internal enemy', requiring comprehensive integrity education solutions

(CLO) The national scientific conference "Education on integrity in the fight against corruption and negative practices in Vietnam today - Theory and practice" clarified the content: Education on integrity is the key solution to prevent corruption, build a clean team of officials, and strengthen people's trust.

On the morning of March 27, in Hanoi, the Academy of Journalism and Communication, the National Political Publishing House Truth, the People's Security Academy, and the People's Police Academy jointly organized the national scientific conference "Education on integrity and the fight against corruption and negative practices in Vietnam today - Theory and practice".

In his welcoming speech at the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Minh Son, Director of the Academy of Journalism and Communication, said that this national scientific conference is of special significance, taking place right after the Politburo issued Directive No. 42 on strengthening the Party's leadership in education work of thrift, integrity, impartiality and impartiality. In the exciting atmosphere of the whole country, towards celebrating many important events and implementing breakthrough innovations, the entire Party, people and army are striving to achieve development goals by 2045.

"In that context, gathering, training and fostering a team of dedicated and capable cadres, especially those with integrity, becomes extremely urgent. Integrity is the most noble quality of a revolutionary cadre, the foundation of morality, courage and intelligence," said Mr. Pham Minh Son.

Mr. Pham Minh Son emphasized that this workshop is a national scientific forum to raise awareness, share experiences, and suggest solutions to promote and improve the quality and effectiveness of integrity education, considering this a solution to prevent and fight against corruption and negativity in an uncompromising manner.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Major General Trinh Ngoc Quyen, Director of the People's Security Academy, affirmed the importance of moral education and building a culture of integrity in the fight against corruption and negativity.

He said that in recent times, the work of preventing and combating corruption has received attention and direction from the Party, the State, central and local ministries, branches and sectors, and has achieved many important results, creating positive effects in the political system and the whole society, contributing to maintaining political stability, promoting socio-economic development, and strengthening people's trust.

During this process, the Party, the State and relevant agencies consistently follow the motto: forming a strict prevention mechanism to make it 'impossible to be corrupt', detecting and strictly handling corrupt acts to 'not dare to be corrupt', and building a culture of 'not wanting to be corrupt'.

He commented: "During the process of diagnosing current problems, we need to be frank, honest, and clearly recognize the current situation in order to make timely adjustments within the school system."

However, reality shows that education still faces many difficulties and limitations, and has not yet formed a strong school culture and political ideology in society. Therefore, it is necessary to promote research and training at central and local units, while focusing on building a team of cadres and civil servants with good moral qualities and integrity.

Discussing at the Workshop, many leaders, scientists and representatives of press agencies gave valuable opinions, contributing to building a clean and strong Party and political system.

Delegates all agreed that integrity education is one of the fundamental, long-term solutions to push back corruption and negativity, contributing to strengthening people's trust in the Party and State.

Prof. Dr. Le Van Loi, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, delivered a closing speech at the Conference.

The workshop also emphasized the need to innovate the content and methods of integrity education, suitable for each subject and level of education; build a healthy educational environment, promote traditional and modern ethical values; at the same time, consider public ethics education as a solution to prevent and combat corruption and negativity.

In his concluding remarks, Prof. Dr. Le Van Loi, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, assessed that the workshop had thoroughly analyzed the context, situation, new requirements and issues for integrity education, thereby providing specific solutions and recommendations. These were: raising awareness of integrity, perfecting institutions, innovating educational content and methods, developing a set of criteria for integrity assessment, and promoting propaganda and setting examples.

"These solutions are expected to contribute to improving the effectiveness of integrity education, building a clean and strong cadre team, and strengthening people's trust in the Party and State," emphasized Prof. Dr. Le Van Loi.
