On the morning of September 18, the Department of Science and Technology of Hai Phong City coordinated with relevant units to organize the opening ceremony of Techfest Hai Phong 2023.
This is the largest annual event of Hai Phong City on science - technology and innovation, assigned by the City People's Committee to the Department of Science and Technology to organize from 2017 to present.

Techfest Hai Phong 2023 with the theme "Hai Phong - City of innovation - Accelerate and shine" is organized with the aim of creating conditions for technology enterprises and startups, startup support organizations, and components in the innovation startup ecosystem to introduce innovative ideas and products; place and receive orders for innovative solutions; call for capital, investment cooperation and international cooperation.
The event brings together leading domestic and international managers, experts and businesses in the field of innovation, expected to attract thousands of interested businesses and people; creating a vibrant atmosphere, demonstrating the determination and spirit of solidarity of state management agencies, socio-political organizations, businesses and the whole society in promoting startups and innovation.

Techfest Hai Phong 2023 also features demonstrations, displays, introductions and connections of nearly 500 technologies, 300 innovative products, OCOP products, and key products of the city with more than 100 booths not only from Hai Phong but also from domestic enterprises and organizations and 6 countries around the world.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong - Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee said: From 2017 to now, Techfest Hai Phong has had more than 700 innovative products and creative startups participating in the exhibition, welcoming 5,000 domestic and foreign delegates to visit and participate in seminars, organizing 200 investment and business connections, organizing 6 Startup Competitions attracting a large number of organizations and individuals to participate.
Thanks to that, dozens of innovative startups have developed, grown and achieved many successes, dozens of which have become science and technology enterprises.
According to Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong, innovation activities with high knowledge content have created a strong driving force and formed a new wave of development for the economy and society of the city in particular and the region in general. Thanks to that, it has contributed to creating a mark of science, technology and innovation, contributing to the development of Hai Phong, reaching out to the sea, promoting the innovation ecosystem of the Red River Delta.

With the goal of promoting the development of the city's innovative startup ecosystem, making Hai Phong a breakthrough to become a key locality in developing modern industry, knowledge economy, green and sustainable economy, a pioneering city in developing technology associated with innovation, Techfest Hai Phong 2023 has attracted the participation of embassies and innovation experts from many countries: Netherlands, Israel, Singapore, Korea, investment funds, innovative startups in the city.
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong believes that Techfest Hai Phong 2023 will be a great success, contributing practically to the implementation of the city's 2023 theme of "Promoting urban renovation and modernization - Building a model new rural area - Implementing digital transformation".
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh acknowledged and assessed that Hai Phong's innovative startup ecosystem has been developing relatively strongly, supporting nearly 300 innovative startup projects and companies, some of which have raised capital and signed cooperation agreements with many domestic and foreign startup support organizations.
Hai Phong's innovative startup ecosystem has also successfully organized many events and competitions on innovative startups; actively participated in national innovative startup activities... making Hai Phong one of the localities with outstanding innovative startup activities. These are bright spots that need to be promoted in the next phase, to truly make innovation and startups a philosophy in building and developing Hai Phong city.
According to Deputy Minister Le Xuan Dinh, in the coming time, Hai Phong not only needs to well implement and strongly develop the city's innovation and startup activities, but also must become a pillar in building the innovation ecosystem of the Northern Coastal Region and the Red River Delta, connecting with national and international innovation ecosystems.
