DNVN - On the morning of November 26th, the Final Round of the "National Creative Startup Talent Search (Techfest Vietnam) 2024" competition took place. The competition aims to promote innovative solutions from startup businesses.
The "Techfest Vietnam 2024 Talent Search" competition aims to promote innovative solutions from startups in the era of rapidly developing technology. Simultaneously, it seeks to attract experts, intellectuals, and entrepreneurs from within Vietnam and abroad, fostering creative thinking. This contributes to promoting the innovative startup ecosystem and boosting Vietnam's economic growth.
The competition attracted nearly 500 applications from provinces and cities nationwide, along with nominations from over 18 startup communities and provincial startup competitions. The competition created a vibrant platform for Vietnamese startups on their journey to international success, inspiring and demonstrating that startup businesses can make a significant contribution to the country's sustainable development. The five best teams were selected to compete in the final round.
Having partnered with Techfest Vietnam for the past three years in various roles, Ms. Kimmy Dang - Director of ITI Fund - noted that the quality of the projects participating in this year's competition has improved significantly, making the selection of the Top 5 for the final round extremely difficult.
"All teams were well-prepared in terms of information, thereby demonstrating their implementation capabilities and clarifying the core value of their products and their impact on society, with a prominent trend being the application of artificial intelligence models in diverse fields."
"I hope Techfest Vietnam will not only be a playground for Vietnamese startups but also a networking point for many startups from the Vietnamese community around the world ," said Kimmy Dang.
Bobby Liu, founder of Ten Thousand Hours, shared: “This year’s competition showcased a more diverse range of startups. Teams came from many different fields, especially with the emergence of startups in the climate technology sector. This is a very promising group of contestants.”
According to Dr. Duong Thi Kim Lien, Director of the Institute for Enterprise Innovation Support and Head of the Techfest Impact Technology Community, this year's competing teams with their innovative startup projects not only focus on solving business problems and generating economic profits, but also create positive impacts on society and the environment, especially in the context of digital transformation and green transformation.
“The competition has proven its position as a national-level platform – a place where groundbreaking creative ideas converge and outstanding entrepreneurial talents from across the country connect. The competition's journey not only inspires but also strongly promotes the development of Vietnam's innovative startup ecosystem, affirming its pioneering role in nurturing a generation of young businesses ready to expand globally,” Ms. Lien shared.
Ms. Nguyen Nha Quyen, Head of the Organizing Committee and Director of Operations at SVF, stated that this year's participating teams showed a high degree of technological proficiency. The business models and products were selected with a balance between commercial and market aspects and sustainable development; they also focused on contributing to and creating a positive impact on the community and society.
"That's also a factor that makes us feel that innovative entrepreneurship and sustainable development are increasingly intersecting. Many entrepreneurs and innovators have a better understanding of market needs and are creating products that we believe are having a significant impact on society, the community, and the Vietnamese economy," Ms. Quyen emphasized.
After more than 40 days and four rounds of selection, the Final Round of the "Techfest Vietnam 2024 Talent Search" competition awarded prizes to the three best teams. The first prize was awarded to Yeast Era (YERA). This is a protein product from probiotics, combining modern technology and natural ingredients, supporting immunity and providing soluble fiber beneficial for digestion.
Second place went to Enfrarm, an agro -tech company with a mission to improve farmers' livelihoods and promote sustainable agricultural growth by developing the world's most accurate and affordable soil sensing technology. Third place went to Tubudd, a platform connecting travelers with local "buddies," offering authentic and unique travel experiences.
Within the framework of the competition, the organizing committee also compiled the "Techfest Vietnam 2024 Talent Search" competition yearbook, containing comprehensive information about the Top 60 competing teams, along with all the partners, investors, and judges who accompanied them through the competition rounds.
