Within the framework of the Bang Ca Village Festival 2025, women from 4 communes wore their traditional ethnic costumes to participate in a friendly soccer match with enthusiastic cheers from the audience outside the field.
Bang Ca Village Festival 2025 takes place over 3 days with many exciting activities, the highlight of which is the Open Women's Football Friendly Tournament taking place over 2 days on February 28 and March 1, attracting a large number of people to cheer.
The tournament brings together 4 "four-team" teams from 4 communes of Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province, including the host team Bang Ca and guest teams from 3 surrounding communes: Tan Dan, Dan Chu, and Quang La.
According to the Organizing Committee, all 4 teams are "reluctant female athletes" gathered and trained quickly to join the commune's soccer team to compete in a friendly match.
Notably, before entering the field, the female players all wear skirts, shoes, socks and head scarves, following the traditional costumes of their ethnic group.
Most of the women on the team are married and have limited skills, but with their love for football and desire to promote their nation's image, they still give their all to the audience.
Fierce ball disputes took place right on the field between players of the two teams.
Many times, the girls are so busy chasing the ball that they "forget" and argue with their own teammates.
Along the sidelines, the hastily elected "Head Coaches" are usually village chiefs or social and cultural officials or the husbands of female players on the field. They constantly direct and change tactics to help their teams quickly score goals against the opponent's net.
Sometimes the referee has to temporarily stop the match because "spectators" wander onto the field.
The friendly women's football tournament attracted hundreds of locals and tourists who sat around to watch the girls in the stadium perform their dribbling moves.
They stayed from the beginning to the end of the match and were constantly happy and smiling with delight at the skillful dribbling and unexpected attacks of the female players.
Unlike professional football tournaments, the dirt field in the Thanh Y Dao Ethnic Reserve has no grass. Every time they fight, dust from the airport grounds rises up, but the women still "fight left and right" without fear of falls that can cause scratches on their limbs.
After a series of attacks and disputes, the female players finally put the ball into the opponent's net.
After the tense moments of conflict on the field, the sisters laughed and joked with each other because winning or losing was not important. They competed because of their passion for the round ball and the desire to attract spectators who were tourists from far away to visit, explore and experience the cultural space of the people here.
