Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Mr. Vasily Nebenzya, said that Russia has planned three important events during its tenure as President of the United Nations Security Council.
Specifically, the main topics of debate include finding a solution to the Middle East issue, multilateral cooperation to build a more just, democratic and sustainable world order, and outlining a new global "security equation".

Besides, Russia also focuses on cooperation between the United Nations and regional organizations, typically the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
According to RIA Novosti, the discussion on the new global “security equation” is scheduled for July 16. A day later, an open debate on the Middle East is scheduled for July 17. Both meetings on July 16 and 17 are expected to be chaired by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. On July 19, Russia will chair a debate in the Security Council on cooperation between the United Nations and the CSTO, CIS and SCO.
The last time Russia assumed the presidency in April 2023, Washington did not issue visas to Russian journalists traveling with Lavrov's delegation despite Moscow fully complying with the procedures.
