This year, the Ministry of Education and Training sent 5 student delegations to participate in international competitions, including: International Math, Chemistry, Biology Olympiads and Asia-Pacific Physics and Informatics Olympiads.
With a total of 37 students sent to participate, the Math Olympiad team consists of 6 students, while the International Chemistry and Biology Olympiads each have 4 students. The Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad and Informatics Olympiad teams have 8 and 15 students respectively.
These students come from 15 high schools including: Natural Science High School, University of Education High School, Ho Chi Minh City Gifted High School and 12 schools in localities (Hanoi, Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Dak Nong, Binh Dinh, Phu Tho).
Among the participants, there was 1 10th grader, 5 11th graders, and the rest were 12th graders. The only student from a non-specialized high school was Tran Tuan Anh from Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, Duc Tho District, Ha Tinh Province.

The selection exam for the International and Asian Olympic teams will take place from March 26-28. Candidates with high scores in the national excellent student exams in math, information technology, physics, chemistry, and biology will be selected.
According to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, these 37 students are exempted from the high school graduation exam and will be admitted directly to university in majors corresponding to the subjects in which they competed.
In 2023, Vietnam's international Olympic teams won 12 gold medals, 16 silver medals, 13 bronze medals and 5 certificates of merit.
