On February 20, doctors at Military Hospital 4 were treating and monitoring the health of Nguyen Quang Sang, 17 years old, residing in Quang Trung ward, Vinh city, after Sang was transferred from Vinh city General Hospital.
Sang was assaulted on the street, causing a stir in public opinion on the afternoon of February 18.
CT scan results determined that Sang had a broken nasal bone.
After being admitted to the hospital, doctors performed plastic surgery to lift Sang's nasal bone and nasal cartilage. It is expected that Sang will be discharged in the next 3-4 days.
Sang's family said that since the incident, the family has received a lot of attention from the community, sharing and encouraging Sang to soon stabilize his psychology and return to school.
Through taking statements from related parties, Vinh City Police determined that at around 4:50 p.m. on February 18, Dang Thai Hoang (30 years old, residing in Trung My block, Quang Trung ward, Vinh city) and his younger brother were walking across Tran Phu street, at the intersection of Tran Phu street and Le Mao street to go to Vinh City General Hospital, when they had a traffic collision with Sang.
Then, Hoang used his hands and feet to punch and kick Sang, causing Sang to be hospitalized for treatment.
