Dreaming of Hometown is a composition by musician - doctor Vu Minh Duc, inspired by the story of Nguyen Dinh Tuan Dung - a son who has been away from home for more than 20 years, carrying within him the nostalgia for his family through the days of struggling from Hai Phong, Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City. With a gentle, profound melody and rich lyrics, the song tells about the lonely moments of an artist in the middle of a big city, where success sometimes comes with an increasing distance from loved ones.
Musician and doctor Vu Minh Duc emphasized: “I want to send the message that happiness is sometimes just a peaceful dream, a dream of seeing the smile of our parents – something that when we are busy, we easily forget. This is not only a musical product, but also a reminder of the value of family and homeland – where happiness begins, especially on the occasion of International Day of Happiness March 20th.”

For Nguyen Dinh Tuan Dung, Dreaming of Hometown reminds him of the image of children leaving school, the country roads, and the feelings of those far from home. He said he sympathizes with the song, because sometimes when he hears the sound of the school drum in Ho Chi Minh City, he also misses his children; or when performing away from home, his heart suddenly aches because of the image of his parents.
Through his warm voice, Dreaming of Home is a reminder that no matter how successful we are, home and family are still where our hearts always turn.
Tuan Dung said that this is also the first official product to "launch" the Southern music market and that there will be more music projects here in the near future.

The song was arranged by musician Nguyen Huu. The MV was directed by Tung Phan - who has made his mark through the works of singers Cam Van, Lam Truong, Vo Ha Tram, Pham Khanh Hung...
The MV is an emotional picture with the image of an artist living in the bustling Ho Chi Minh City but always carrying in his heart a nostalgia for his hometown, interwoven with simple images such as a cat, a three-tailed fish, and green trees. In particular, the scene of Nguyen Dinh Tuan Dung sitting on the rooftop of an apartment building, holding a can of instant noodles, facing a wall projecting images of his hometown amidst the sparkling lights of the city. All create a story that is both ordinary and poetic, reminiscent of peaceful dreams.

Singer Huong Giang (known as "the sad girl of the tea room") shared about the song: "I was really overwhelmed with emotion when I heard the song. For me, Minh Duc's music always has great evocative power - just listening to it, I can imagine so many things. With this song, Nguyen Dinh Tuan Dung performed it perfectly from beginning to end, completely blending his lyrical voice with the spirit of the song."
