On the morning of March 19, according to information from the People's Committee of Can Giuoc district (Long An), Secretary of the District Party Committee Truong Thanh Liem and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Giuoc had a meeting with the district's branches, communes and towns to ensure sufficient water for people's daily life in the upcoming dry season.
According to Mr. Truong Thanh Liem, at this time, the People's Committees of communes and towns are strengthening propaganda work to encourage people to use water economically and proactively store water to cope with local water shortages during the dry season.
Through information and propaganda work, the District People's Committee coordinated with provincial departments and branches to divide water supply areas for companies to transfer to households.
"We recommend that companies continue to maintain a stable water source, increase production, ensure sufficient supply for people's use, invest in constructing pipelines to households, and resolutely not let water shortages occur like in the dry season of 2024," Mr. Liem directed.
Recently, Can Giuoc district is one of the localities that has actively called for investment in clean water projects to serve people in rural areas.
Currently, in the district, there are 4 companies supplying water sources with an output of about 38,800m3 /day and night, basically meeting the needs of people and businesses in the district.

In the coming time, more industrial parks, clusters, urban areas, residential areas, etc. will be formed in the district. Therefore, the demand for domestic water will increase, and water shortages are inevitable.
The District People's Committee thanked the companies for their recent investment and support in providing domestic water to the people.
In the dry season of 2024, in some communes of Tan Tap, Phuoc Vinh Dong, Phuoc Vinh Tay, Phuoc Lai... in Can Giuoc district, more than 1,000 households suffered from a severe lack of clean water from Tet holiday until May 2024.
Many benefactors used their personal vehicles to transport water from other places to support day and night. However, the amount of clean water still could not meet the demand. There was a time when rural people in Can Giuoc had to buy nearly 100,000 VND/ m3 for use.
