Ministry of Education and Training officially responded

On March 20, the Ministry of Education and Training sent an official dispatch to a number of provinces and cities regarding the time to organize the 2025 High School Graduation Exam.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry has received official dispatches from the Departments of Education and Training regarding the consideration of adjusting the exam schedule for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam. The proposed provinces and cities are Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Ninh Binh, Nghe An, and Quang Tri.

The Ministry of Education and Training has the following opinion: "The Ministry acknowledges and appreciates the initiative of the Departments of Education and Training in proposing adjustments to the high school graduation exam schedule to meet practical needs in localities and other actual situations.

After considering many factors, the Ministry of Education and Training decided to keep the 2025 high school graduation exam schedule as announced in the 2024-2025 school year plan (according to Decision No. 2045/QD-BGDDT dated August 1, 2024). Keeping the exam schedule as announced helps stabilize the psychology of students and parents and does not affect other activities in the education sector.

The Ministry of Education and Training requests that the Departments of Education and Training closely coordinate with relevant units to implement the 2024-2025 school year plan, organize the 2025 High School Graduation Exam according to plan and ensure safety, seriousness, and compliance with regulations.

The Ministry of Education and Training's expected schedule for the 2025 high school graduation exam is June 26-27. However, recently, some localities have proposed to move the exam schedule up by 3 weeks.

Specifically, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training sent a document to the Ministry of Education and Training requesting that the Ministry of Education and Training adjust the exam schedule earlier than the draft announcement. This is also a proposal from Ho Chi Minh City.

In a document sent to the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that in the context that the whole country is implementing the arrangement and merger of provinces and cities, completing district-level tasks and implementing research and proposing to continue to arrange the organization of the political system, adjusting the high school graduation exam schedule earlier is to ensure the rights of students and stabilize the psychology of parents and students.

At the same time, it facilitates the preparation work of localities to organize the high school graduation exam safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations. At the same time, Mr. Hieu proposed that the Ministry of Education and Training soon issue a directive document, organization plan, and high school graduation exam schedule.

Nghe An and Ninh Binh provinces also hope that the 2025 high school graduation exam will be pushed back about 3 weeks compared to the scheduled date.
