The Minister of Transport has just signed a decision approving adjustments to the investment project to build Dai Ngai Bridge on National Highway 60 in the provinces of Tra Vinh and Soc Trang.
Perspective of Dai Ngai bridge project.
Accordingly, the project's implementation schedule is adjusted from 2022, basically completed in 2027, and put into synchronous operation of the entire project in 2028.
Other contents of the project will remain unchanged according to Decision No. 1703/QD-BGTVT dated December 23, 2022 of the Minister of Transport.
Previously, according to the approved plan, the investment project to build Dai Ngai bridge on National Highway 60 in Tra Vinh and Soc Trang provinces has a total length of more than 15km, divided into 2 main parts including: Dai Ngai 1 cable-stayed bridge; Dai Ngai 2 bridge, route and works on the route.
Starting point intersects with National Highway 54, in Hung Hoa commune, Tieu Can district, Tra Vinh province.
The end point intersects with Nam Song Hau National Highway, in Long Duc commune, Long Phu district, Soc Trang province.
The total investment of the project is more than 7,900 billion VND. The implementation period is from 2022 to 2026.
Currently, the Dai Ngai 2 bridge section, the route and the works on the route have completed the technical design work, selected the contractor and are implementing simultaneous construction on site, with the completion schedule in December 2025.
For the Dai Ngai 1 bridge project, due to its technical characteristics (cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 450m, composite steel girder structure, bored piles with a large length of about 120m), the survey, technical design, and cost estimate work must be carried out carefully, wind tunnel testing must be organized abroad, requiring more time than normal technical design packages, and is expected to be completed by July 2024.
Also according to the report of the Technical Design Consultant, the construction time of the main cable-stayed bridge of Dai Ngai 1 Bridge (which is the item that determines the project progress) takes about 42 months.
This time is equivalent to the construction time of the main cable-stayed bridge as stated in the approved feasibility study report, similar to the construction time of large-span cable-stayed bridges that have been and are being built in Vietnam.
For the above reasons, the completion time of Dai Ngai 1 Bridge must be adjusted to 2027, and the entire project must be completed and put into operation in 2028.
According to Project Management Board 85, extending the project implementation period does not affect the investment objectives, scale, design solutions, capital sources, does not increase the total investment and other contents in the decision approving the project investment policy.
