Similar to the Vietnamese women's team, another Southeast Asian team, Thailand, is also in the top seed group and is the host of a group in the 2026 Asian Cup qualifiers.
While other regional representatives Indonesia and Malaysia are in group 2, Laos and Cambodia fall into group 3, and Singapore and East Timor are classified into group 4.
The draw took place on March 27 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 34 teams were divided into eight groups (two groups of five teams and six groups of four teams).
The top eight teams in each group will qualify for the finals. The qualifiers will take place from June 23 to July 5, 2025.
