The activity is within the framework of cooperation with the United Nations Children's Fund Vietnam (UNICEF) and the Global Digital Library to implement the Free Digital Library Project for Vietnamese Children in the period 2021-2025.

The Global Digital Library (GDL) project is an initiative of the Global Book Alliance to provide free reading and learning materials to children around the world, which was developed in 2014 in collaboration with All Children Read (ACR) and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad). GDL builds on existing resources from major organizations such as Bookdash, Let's Read, and Storyweaver and continues to expand its content through translation and localization.

Speaking at the training session, Prof. Dr. Le Anh Vinh, Director of the Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences, emphasized the importance of reading culture and the role of libraries in general in spreading reading culture in schools.

Director Le Anh Vinh also emphasized the role of the free digital library as not only a powerful support tool to help children, especially those in disadvantaged areas, easily access knowledge, but also to promote a vibrant reading movement, encouraging the participation of students, teachers, schools and parents. From there, together we can build an active reading community and promote a reading culture, not only in schools but also spread throughout the community.
