On the morning of September 21, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference of the Government Standing Committee working with businesses on solutions to contribute to the country's socio-economic development.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Sovico Group, said that Sovico is a multi-industry economic group, operating in the fields of: Banking, aviation, urban development, vocational training, technology - digital transformation... with more than 40,000 employees, with 2 listed enterprises, capitalization of nearly 6 billion USD.

Creating an environment for private enterprises to develop their strengths

According to Ms. Thao, the capacity and initiatives of Vietnamese corporations are unlimited. Therefore, businesses hope that the Prime Minister will trust private enterprises and create conditions for the development of regulations, laws, mechanisms and environments for ethnic enterprises.

From there, private economic groups with national and international strength and brands will be formed to lead and promote small and medium enterprises, rural agricultural areas, and start-up companies.

Sovico Chairman also expressed the need to create an environment for the development of education, training, scientific and technological research, promoting innovation, especially vocational training and increasing labor productivity in the whole society. Creating conditions and mechanisms for Vietjet to proactively invest and build a strong Vietnamese aircraft fleet.

At the same time, Ms. Thao also welcomed the visa policy (e-visa) to help aviation quickly attract international tourists, trade and investment to Vietnam.

According to her, the above policies will aim to realize the dream of Vietnam becoming an aviation center, a growth engine for regional and world aviation, a center for passenger and cargo transportation; a center for training, aviation technology, and an aircraft repair and maintenance center.

According to Mr. Dang Minh Truong - Chairman of Sun Group, it is necessary to institutionalize the selection of strategic investors according to the mechanism of assigning tasks to private enterprises to implement key projects, associated with specific mechanisms.

Regarding the mechanism for the foreign tourist market, Mr. Truong proposed expanding the list of unilateral visa exemptions, piloting short-term visa exemptions for tourists from a number of large-scale, high-spending markets; granting long-term visas, multiple entries for the segment from India, China, the United States, Europe, etc.

Mr. Vu Van Tien, Chairman of Geleximco Group, proposed to increase decentralization and delegation of authority in project investment. According to him, although the Prime Minister encouraged, there is a whole forest of mechanisms and policies below, making it difficult for businesses to know "which way to go and which way to go".

Sharing the same view, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Thanh, Chairwoman of Ree Group, proposed that the Government should delegate authority to the province to grant investment policies to enterprises. Meanwhile, a representative of Masan Group proposed increasing Vietnam's export value, focusing on quality growth, not focusing too much on quantity. This is to take advantage of the fact that Vietnamese food is ranked 5th in the top 10 most popular dishes in the world.

To spread culinary culture, increase competitive advantage, and bring Vietnamese culture abroad, Masan Group also proposed that the Government issue a roadmap and strategy for Vietnamese cuisine to reach the global market.

Building the national culinary brand image, creating Vietnamese culinary ambassadors. This is also a form of cultural diplomacy, bringing Vietnamese culinary culture to the regional and world level.
