Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam expected the exhibition to create momentum for innovation, connect producers, distributors with farmers, promote mechanization and develop sustainable agriculture.
"I hope the workshop and exhibition will not only help businesses and farmers raise awareness of the importance of applying technology in production to increase productivity and add value, but also promote sustainable agricultural development. At the same time, the event will encourage creativity and innovation in agriculture, opening up opportunities for talent and intelligence development," said Mr. Nam.
According to the Deputy Minister, despite facing many challenges, Vietnam's agricultural sector still achieved positive results with GDP increasing by 3.3% in 2024, agricultural exports exceeding 62 billion USD. The sector is strongly transforming to an agricultural economic model, applying high technology to increase value and develop sustainably.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is also implementing the project "Sustainable development of 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice" in the Mekong Delta, opening up opportunities to improve the quality and competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products.
