On the afternoon of December 25, the Department of Police Investigation of Crimes on Corruption, Economy, Smuggling, and Environment (abbreviated as the Economic Police Department) of Da Nang City Police said it was supervising the destruction of nearly 4 tons of rotten animal products (cowhide) from a production facility.
Cowhide in a foul smelling condition
Earlier, in the early morning of the same day, the Economic Police Department coordinated with the Inspectorate of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Da Nang City to raid an animal product processing facility in Con Mong village (Hoa Phuoc commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city).
At the time of the surprise inspection, the joint force caught the owner of the facility, Mr. NL (59 years old), organizing workers to process cowhide with a total of 105 sets, weighing nearly 4 tons.
Notably, at this time the entire product had a foul odor.
The facility owner pledged to destroy nearly 4 tons of products.
During the investigation, the owner of the facility could not present any invoices or documents proving the origin of the goods, nor did he have a quarantine certificate or any documents related to veterinary hygiene conditions for the amount of cowhide. The authorities continued to fight with the owner of the facility and made a record.
Because the owner of the facility voluntarily committed to destroying the rotten animal products, the Economic Police Department assigned local authorities to supervise the destruction process and continue to investigate the case.
