With food safety standards, clear origin, and beautiful designs, many OCOP products from localities in Nghe An province have been trusted and chosen by consumers as gifts during the Lunar New Year. This is also the most important season of the year for many OCOP entities.
Not only focusing on improving quality, OCOP product brand owners also focus on improving designs and innovating consumption channels to bring consumers the best products during the traditional Tet holiday. Many production facilities and cooperatives in Nghe An have received orders early, increased promotion, and made constant efforts to expand production and business. Hand-painted gift boxes are an advantage that helps lotus products of Phuc An Farm, a brand of Loc Phat Production, Trade, Service and Investment Joint Stock Company, become more unique, eye-catching and stand out from other products in the same segment. Not only focusing on quality, each lotus product of Phuc An Farm also carries deep spiritual value through each painting carefully crafted by artisans from Phuc An, rustic images familiar to Vietnamese people. To date, the company has launched 15 product lines made from lotus, including key products such as lotus heart, red lotus tea, wooden lotus tea, lotus-scented tea, lotus leaf tea, dried lotus root... and jams from other agricultural products. Phuc An Farm's products have achieved 3-star OCCOP certification at the provincial level, and some products are exported to the US, Australia, Japan, Korea and Laos. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Huy, founder of Phuc An Farm, said: "Our partners are very diverse, from large and small companies in many fields to departments and branches... Therefore, we have launched many products that are good for health and imbued with the cultural values of the Vietnamese people. This Tet holiday, we have launched 5,000 gift boxes to the market, ensuring both aesthetics and quality". At this time, OCOP production facilities are also rushing to complete products to serve the Tet market. With the current demand of customers increasingly preferring traditional products, especially those that have been certified by OCOP because they ensure food safety and are good for health. Therefore, in addition to focusing on producing individual products, many establishments also offer unique Tet gift baskets to serve the gift-giving needs. Tet gift baskets with prices ranging from 250 thousand VND to several million VND/basket/box, provide customers with diverse options and are suitable for gift-giving needs during this year's Tet holiday. Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien, owner of Baly Foods cereal production facility, said that the facility always researches and develops new products to meet market demand. This year's Tet version is not only welcomed by the domestic market but also ordered by many businesses as gifts for partners. This year, the trend of choosing OCOP products as gifts has increased, therefore, OCOP entities have linked and cooperated with each other to launch quality Tet gift products such as: products processed from lotus combined with Shan Tuyet tea; crispy dried jackfruit, dried mango combined with lotus tea; beef jerky, Chinese sausage combined with Khau Hin wine, fermented wine... which are popular in the market. According to Mr. Nham Sy Thanh, Director of Lotte Marth Vinh Supermarket, in the past two years, consumers have increasingly welcomed Vietnamese specialty agricultural products, especially local specialties. This is thanks to quality goods, uniqueness, support from transportation as well as the encouragement of the spirit of domestic consumption. In addition to focusing on producing orders to serve the Tet market, businesses, cooperatives, and entities are also interested in designing OCOP product gift baskets with eye-catching designs to facilitate customers to give gifts during Tet. In fact, many OCOP products are not only of good quality but also beautifully designed, easily penetrating supermarket chains and clean food stores. This not only contributes to the development of the rural economy but also aims at export. Mr. Nguyen Ho Lam, Deputy Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development of Nghe An, said that currently, thanks to the application of science and technology in production, product designs are improved, have barcodes, QR stamps for traceability, many products are registered for intellectual property and geographical indications, so they meet the strict requirements of the market. Making OCOP products into gifts and presents for Tet will open up a new direction in product consumption, at the same time, enhance the level, enhance the brand and create a promotional effect for OCOP products.
