After a home-cooked meal, 134 people were hospitalized with symptoms of suspected food poisoning.
On August 9, the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Health directed relevant units to collect samples and determine the cause of the incident in which many people showed symptoms of digestive disorders and suspected food poisoning after attending a party in Lac Duong district.
Initial information, at noon on August 7, a family in Darahoa village, Da Nhim commune, Lac Duong district organized a party with the participation of about 170 people.
The party includes dishes made from beef and chicken that the family slaughters and cooks themselves, ingredients and spices purchased in Da Lat City, vermicelli, rice vermicelli, and bread purchased locally.
However, by 11pm the same day, some people showed symptoms of digestive disorders.
By noon on August 9, authorities had recorded at least 134 people (in Lac Duong and Don Duong districts who attended the party) going to medical facilities due to abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, and fever.
After being examined and treated by doctors, most of the patients have been discharged from the hospital. In Lac Duong district alone (110 cases recorded), 76 cases have been discharged, and 34 cases are being treated at medical facilities in stable condition.
The cause of the suspected poisoning is currently being investigated.
