On September 12, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Son, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Lang Chanh district, Thanh Hoa province, said that due to the impact of storm No. 3, heavy rain occurred in some communes such as Yen Khuong and Giao Thien, causing high water levels in the streams through the spillways, causing traffic disruption.
To ensure safety, two schools in the area had to let students stay home. Specifically, Yen Khuong Secondary School had 338 students and Giao Thien Secondary School had 302 students.
"Today (September 12), 640 students in the area had to stay home from school due to traffic disruption. These students will return to school after the floodwaters recede through the spillways and traffic becomes more convenient again," said Mr. Son.
Also on the morning of September 12, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Ba Thuoc district said that due to rising flood waters on streams and traffic disruption, about 600 students of Dien Thuong Kindergarten, Dien Ha Kindergarten, and Ky Tan Primary School had to stay home from school to ensure safety.
