Ho Chi Minh City Farmers' Association sends farmers to Japan to learn high-tech agriculture

Today (October 21), a delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers' Association led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hanh - Vice President of the City Farmers' Association visited the Omiya Bonsai Museum in Japan.

This is the world's first public museum dedicated to the traditional Japanese art of bonsai. The museum houses more than 120 bonsai masterpieces along with woodblock prints and other works of art in various genres, all centered around the theme of bonsai.

It is known that the above activity is part of the Project "Organizing sending farmers to study, exchange production experiences and promote goods, and consume agricultural products abroad in the period of 2023-2025". The working group consists of 18 people, of which 15 are farmers, expected to work in Japan for 7 days (October 20-26, 2024).

Ho Chi Minh City Farmers' Association hopes that through the trip, it will help farmers improve their practical knowledge, apply the knowledge and experience they have learned into actual production and effectively replicate the model.

Thereby, contributing to the successful implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Development, the Program on Developing Plant Varieties, Animal Breeds and High-Tech Agriculture in Ho Chi Minh City for the period 2021-2025 and the Agricultural Development Program for the period 2019-2025 towards restructuring and promoting agricultural structural transformation in the city.

The biggest goal is to increase the added value of agricultural products through solutions applying digital technology and smart technology in the production, processing and consumption of agricultural products.

The trip also aims to promote international exchange and integration, helping city farmers quickly apply advanced science and technology in the world and develop consumer markets.

It is expected that in the remaining working days, the delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers' Association will visit many famous agricultural production locations in Japan, typically: Tomato Park, Dainichi Farm (raising Japanese carp), Daio Wasabi Farm, Kawakami Village - a famous high-tech agricultural production village in Japan; Fruit farm model in Yamanashi, High-rise agricultural model of Pasona Urban Farm...

Previously, from September 15-21, 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers' Association organized for 18 people (15 farmers) to participate in the Program to study and exchange experiences in Taiwan.

The delegation visited and studied at: Kaohsiung City Department of Agriculture; visited and studied the Chienhu Cheanch Ecological Fish Farm model in the upper Dabao River; visited and studied the flower and herbal growing model of Miaoli Hualu Farm in Taichung; visited and studied the cattle raising model of Flying Cow Farm in Taichung; visited and studied the mushroom growing model at Bach Co Trang Mushroom Farm...
