In the 2020 - 2025 term, Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee has set out strategic development orientations and visions to turn the province into a key economic center of the Southern Central Highlands region, with the goal of "Strong Province - Rich People - Beautiful Nature - Compassionate Society".

The Provincial People's Council also closely monitored the implementation of policies to support people facing difficulties due to natural disasters and epidemics, especially the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. First of all, the Provincial People's Committee has focused on administrative reform tasks, improving the investment and business environment. Specifically, the Provincial People's Committee has developed many investment incentive policies and established focal points to support businesses in order to attract investment capital from both domestic and foreign countries. Investment projects have received a lot of support from the Provincial People's Committee in terms of legal procedures, land, capital sources, etc.
Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee focuses on protecting natural resources and the environment, especially forest and forest land management. Provincial leaders have also built cooperative relationships with domestic and foreign investors; organized investment promotion conferences to attract potential projects, thereby helping Dak Nong to continuously improve and develop.
3 ECONOMIC PILLARS CONTINUE TO GROW
In the 2020-2025 term, Dak Nong faced many difficulties and challenges. At the beginning of the term, the Covid-19 epidemic broke out, causing all economic and social sectors to stagnate for quite a long time.
Following that is the general economic recession due to global impacts. Dak Nong also has to face the burden of natural disasters such as floods, droughts; and epidemics in humans and livestock.

However, with the steadfast leadership and close direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee, great achievements have been achieved, helping many economic sectors of Dak Nong to make impressive progress in the 2020-2025 term, especially the three pillars: industry, high-tech agriculture, and tourism.
Among the outstanding results, industry has shown clear development, playing the largest role in the three economic pillars of the province. In the period of 2021 - 2024, the average growth of the industrial sector in Dak Nong's GRDP reached about 11%. The annual proportion of industry in Dak Nong's GRDP reached nearly 20%.
Dak Nong continues to call for investment in bauxite projects associated with mining areas and clusters according to planning.
The most positive contributor to the provincial industry is the Nhan Co Alumina Factory. By the end of 2024, the factory's capacity will reach 650,000 tons of alumina per year, contributing about VND 1,200 billion to the local budget, accounting for about 15% of the province's total budget revenue and creating stable jobs for thousands of workers.
Dak Nong's aluminum and alumina products are not only supplied to the domestic market but also exported to many countries around the world, helping to increase value and revenue for the province's economy.
In addition to bauxite, rural industry, processing industry, handicraft industry, renewable energy... also contribute a lot to Dak Nong's economy. Dak Nong has strongly developed renewable energy projects, especially solar power and wind power, with a total capacity estimated at 300MW by the end of the term. These projects are mainly deployed in Krong No, Dak Mil and Dak Song districts. The province has attracted thousands of billions of USD in investment in the renewable energy sector, creating new sources of revenue and reducing carbon emissions.
From 2020 to present, Dak Nong has achieved many achievements in agricultural development. The annual growth rate of Dak Nong's agricultural sector has always been quite good. In particular, in 2023, it grew by 6.76%; in 2024, it reached 4.85% and in 2025, it is expected to reach 4.75%.
Wind power promises to bring large revenue to Dak Nong from 2025
The province's agricultural export turnover during the whole period reached more than 5.2 billion USD. The annual proportion of agriculture in Dak Nong's GRDP reached nearly 44.6%.
The total agricultural cultivation area of the province is currently over 309,397 hectares. Of which, the area of industrial crops and perennial crops is over 235,200 hectares, and annual crops are nearly 74,000 hectares.
The province has recognized 7 high-tech agricultural zones with a total area of 3,556 hectares, including coffee, pepper, rice, and mango; and recognized 2 high-tech agricultural enterprises. Regarding export growing areas, Dak Nong currently has 47 codes, with 37 growing areas; 10 packaging facility codes...
The province promotes sustainable agricultural production models and high-tech applications. Currently, the province's coffee area has increased to 142,000 hectares, of which 131,000 hectares are harvested, with an output of more than 350,000 tons/year. The province's annual coffee export turnover reaches about 200 million USD. Coffee creates income for more than 70,000 households and creates jobs for hundreds of thousands of Dak Nong people.
Pepper plants in Dak Nong cover 33,800 hectares, with an output of more than 60,000 tons/year, contributing to increasing people's income and helping the province increase its annual budget revenue significantly.
Fruit trees are also increasingly developing in a specialized and high-quality direction. Among them, durian stands out with an area of 7,000 hectares and an estimated output of 70,000 tons/year, also contributing to increasing the economic value of Dak Nong in recent years.
In the period of 2020-2024, Dak Nong as well as the whole country was heavily affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, but still achieved many positive results in tourism development. The province attracted more than 2 million visitors, with a total revenue of thousands of billions of VND, contributing significantly to the province's annual GRDP. In particular, in 2024, Dak Nong witnessed a strong breakthrough in tourism, with revenue increasing by 21.87% compared to 2023; reaching 101.5% of the annual plan.
OPEN INVESTMENT ENVIRONMENT
In addition to economic development, in the recent period, Dak Nong has witnessed a strong breakthrough in administrative reform and improvement of the investment and business environment.
Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands provinces signed a cooperation agreement to support mutual development.
In 2020, Dak Nong province's PCI achieved and exceeded 5 targets, of which it increased by 2 ranks, ranking 60/63 provinces and cities nationwide. In 2021, Dak Nong's PCI index increased by 8 ranks and ranked 52/63 provinces and cities nationwide.
By 2022, Dak Nong's PCI index increased 14 places in ranking, from 52/63 in 2021 to 38/63 provinces and cities. In particular, some component indexes have high rankings such as: time cost (ranked 6); transparency (ranked 17); dynamism of provincial government (ranked 23).
The investment environment has been improved, creating favorable conditions for businesses and investors to operate.
Most impressively, in 2023, Dak Nong had a strong breakthrough when the provincial PCI index rose to 21st place out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide, up 17 places compared to 2022. This is the highest result that Dak Nong has achieved in the past 20 years. Although 2024 has not been announced, according to the assessment of the Provincial People's Committee, administrative reform and improvement of the investment environment in Dak Nong have made many new strides.
At the meeting with businessmen of Dak Nong province, held on October 9, 2024, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi assessed: "The clear and breakthrough changes in administrative reform and improvement of the investment and business environment are the result of the drastic and close direction and management of authorities at all levels. The solidarity, determination, joint efforts and consensus of the entire political system, business community and people of Dak Nong province".
IMPRESSIVE POVERTY REDUCTION
Resolution of the 12th Dak Nong Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, identifies the development of transport infrastructure as one of the three breakthroughs.
Immediately after the congress, Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee issued a resolution on developing transport infrastructure for the 2021-2025 period, with a vision to 2030. Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to implement the resolution.
During its term, Dak Nong has invested about VND 4,500 billion to build and upgrade the transport system. By early 2025, the asphalt rate of Dak Nong roads reached 74%, exceeding the resolution target by 1%. In particular, national highways are regularly upgraded, renovated, and expanded, creating favorable conditions for goods trading. District and commune roads have been improved, helping people easily access education, health care, and commercial services.
In particular, the Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) Expressway Project has been approved by the Government and is preparing to start construction in 2025. The project promises to bring many breakthroughs to Dak Nong's socio-economy in the coming period.
Along with transportation, the commercial and service infrastructure system in Dak Nong has developed remarkably in the recent period, creating a great driving force for the socio-economic development of the province.

Dak Nong trade and services are increasingly developing.
The strong development of industry, agriculture, services and infrastructure has created a great driving force for Dak Nong to accelerate in poverty reduction.
According to the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, up to now, the number of poor households in the province is only 5,411, accounting for 3.15% and decreasing by about 9% compared to the end of 2020. The number of poor ethnic minority households in place is 2,025, accounting for 12.42% and decreasing by 18% compared to the end of 2020. The number of poor households in Dak Nong is only 1/4 compared to Gia Lai and Dak Lak provinces. In the recent past, Dak Nong has always been at the top of the Central Highlands region in poverty reduction.
Coffee is the mainstay of Dak Nong agriculture.
At the regular meeting of the Provincial People's Committee members in November 2024, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi assessed: "Compared to the whole country and the region, Dak Nong's poverty reduction rate is very impressive. We have the right to be proud of achieving this result."
2025 will be the sprint for Dak Nong to complete the development goals of the entire term. The province aims to maintain its socio-economic achievements, while focusing on improving the investment and business environment, protecting the environment, and developing sustainably.
