Southeast region leader

On May 4, 2021, Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution 07 on the development orientation of the Southeast region to 2025, with a vision to 2030. The goal of the resolution is to build the Southeast region of Quang Nam into a chain of urban areas, service centers, tourism, clean industry, high-tech agriculture; preserve and promote cultural and historical values, develop ecosystems to respond to climate change...

After nearly 3 years of implementing the resolution, the results have been quite positive, especially in the industrial sector. Notable are the automobile and multi-purpose mechanical engineering projects, with the core projects at the Chu Lai - Truong Hai Automobile Mechanical Industrial Park (243ha) invested by Truong Hai Group Corporation (Thaco).

To date, this industrial park has attracted 50 secondary projects, including 12 automobile manufacturing, assembly and distribution projects, 38 projects operating in the field of mechanical manufacturing and supporting industries; occupancy rate of 80%; creating regular jobs for more than 13,000 workers.

Thaco has also established Thaco Auto and Thaco Industries with the goal of forming a large-scale mechanical engineering support industrial park in the Central region through cooperation and joint ventures with domestic and foreign partners to produce and trade mechanical products and supporting industrial products in and outside the automotive industry, aiming at the global value chain.

To date, Thaco has exported products to 19 countries around the world such as the US, Japan, Korea, Australia, Sweden, Finland... Thaco is proposing to expand the Chu Lai - Truong Hai Automobile Mechanical Industrial Park Project by 115 hectares to continue attracting industries such as automobile manufacturing, construction mechanics, mechanical supporting industries...

The Southeast region contributes more than 70% of the province's total budget revenue, making an important contribution to promoting the economic and labor restructuring of the province.

Recently, in addition to projects implemented by Thaco, the Management Board of Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of Quang Nam province has also promoted and called for automobile support industry projects in Tam Thang Industrial Park such as the automobile spare parts manufacturing project of CTR Vina Co., Ltd., the automobile wire manufacturing project of Draexlmaier Automotive Vietnam Joint Stock Company, the automobile support factory project of Oriental Commerce Vina Co., Ltd....

Improve technology content

In the province, there are currently 14 industrial parks approved for investment policies/granted investment registration certificates with a total approved area of ​​3,670 hectares. The planning of Quang Nam province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, adds new industrial parks in Dai Loc, Dien Ban, Thang Binh, Hiep Duc, Que Son, Phu Ninh with a total industrial park land area of ​​10,165.8 hectares in the province.

By the end of November 2024, the industrial parks attracted 258 projects with a total registered capital of about VND 90,839 billion (equivalent to about USD 4 billion), including 166 domestic projects and 92 foreign projects, with an average occupancy rate of about 59%.

Regarding the high-tech industrial park group, Mr. Nguyen Hong Quang - Head of the Provincial Economic Zones and Industrial Parks Management Board said that according to the Southeast Region Planning of the province, there are 2 high-tech industrial parks planned with a total area of ​​about 610 hectares.

Based on the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the adjusted Master Plan for the construction of Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Management Board of Quang Nam Economic Zones and Industrial Parks to develop a zoning plan (scale 1/2,000) for Thang Binh High-Tech Industrial Park with a scale of 310 hectares (having consulted with the Ministry of Construction) and approved by the Provincial Planning Appraisal Council. In addition, the management board is continuing to research and draft a mechanism for the high-tech industrial park to submit to the Provincial People's Committee.
