Within the framework of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival - 2025, the Farmers' Competition took place from March 10-11 in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province, attracting special attention from many people and the Central Highlands coffee farming community.
This is not only a playground for exchange but also a forum for farmers to learn, share experiences and update scientific and technical advances in agricultural cultivation. The 2025 Farmers Competition is organized by Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Lak, the National Agricultural Extension Center, and the Central Highlands Agricultural and Forestry Science and Technology Institute.
Competition - Bridge of knowledge and practice in coffee production
This year's competition officially kicked off in January 2025, gathering 07 teams representing the provinces with the largest coffee growing areas in the country, including: Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Kontum, Dak Nong, Lam Dong, Binh Phuoc and Son La. Through the selection and training process, the teams were trained in-depth on advanced farming knowledge and techniques, thereby improving production efficiency and coffee quality.

Key topics discussed included pest control, intercropping techniques in coffee gardens, care of multi-stem coffee trees and the application of technology in sustainable farming. Teams not only competed but also had the opportunity to receive in-depth training on advanced coffee farming techniques, aiming to improve production efficiency and coffee quality.
Impressive final with exciting competitions
The final round of the competition took place on the evening of March 11, 2025 at 10/3 Square, with the theme "Smart Coffee Farming". The four best teams from Dak Lak, Binh Phuoc, Son La and Kon Tum entered the dramatic competition round with four parts: Hello Farmer, Smart Farmer, Linked Farmer and Challenged Farmer.
The competitions not only demonstrated the teams' deep understanding of farming techniques but also reflected their acumen in applying technology and linking the value chain in the coffee industry.

Speaking at the final night, Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee - Mr. Nguyen Thien Van emphasized: "The contest is not only an intellectual playground for farmers but also a practical activity to help improve the capacity of officials and farmer members. This is an opportunity for farmers to access advanced farming solutions, thereby improving production efficiency, enhancing the value of Vietnamese coffee brands in the international market".

Honoring the best farmers
At the end of the competition, the Dak Lak team won the First Prize, the Second Prize went to the Son La team; the Third Prize went to the Kon Tum and Binh Phuoc teams; the Encouragement Prize went to the teams: Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Lam Dong. The two teams tied for Third Prize were the Kon Tum and Binh Phuoc teams. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded the Most Impressive Farmer's Greetings Award to the Dak Lak team.
Mr. Nguyen Thien Van - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee and Mr. Nguyen Van Thieu - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company presented the first prize to Dak Lak team.
Mr. Hoang Van Hong - Deputy Director of the National Agricultural Extension Center and Mr. Nguyen Minh Huan, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Lak Province presented the second prize to the Son La team.
Mr. Phan Van Tam - Deputy General Director of Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company and Mr. Nguyen Van Ha - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Lak Province presented the third prize to the two teams of Kon Tum and Binh Phuoc.
In addition to the prizes according to the Contest regulations, Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company has announced special prizes for all 04 teams participating in the final round. Specifically, each team will receive a Smart Coffee Farming solution package, including technical processes, fertilizers and supporting equipment with a total value as follows: 200 million VND for the First Prize winning team, 100 million VND for the Second Prize winning team, 50 million VND for each Third Prize winning team.
This is a prize of high practical value, helping the competing teams to apply advanced farming techniques to production, thereby improving the efficiency of coffee farming in a sustainable direction.

The 2025 Farmers Competition is not just a competition, but also an activity with profound meaning for the farming community. Through this event, advances in smart coffee cultivation, adapting to climate change, have been widely disseminated, helping farmers have more solutions in production.
