P4G Summit: Opportunity to promote Vietnamese tourism

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has just issued Official Dispatch No. 447/CDLQGVN-QLXT to the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and the Hanoi Department of Tourism on promoting tourism to serve the 4th Summit of the Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G).

The conference, hosted by Vietnam, is scheduled to take place from April 16-17 and is expected to welcome about 800-1,000 delegates. Sideline activities will also begin on April 14 and end on April 17.

Accordingly, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism proposed that the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports coordinate with the Hanoi Department of Tourism to integrate the promotion of Vietnam tourism with the conference identity provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on decorative, propaganda, and visual promotional means such as: slogans, billboards, posters, outdoor electronic screens, etc.

At the same time, organize cultural and tourism introduction spaces inside and outside the Summit area, at the airport, main streets and main public spaces in the capital.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will provide tourism promotion video clips to be shown on screens before April 10.

In addition, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism also requested the Hanoi Department of Tourism to guide tourist accommodation establishments serving conference delegates to review, renovate, upgrade, and improve facilities, human resources, and service processes, control service quality, and ensure hygiene, security, and food safety.

Accommodation facilities serving conference delegates need to decorate, advertise destinations, and arrange screens to show clips introducing Vietnam tourism in general and Hanoi tourism in particular. During the conference, it is necessary to organize a welcome for delegates, coordinate with travel agencies to arrange tables to introduce and sell tourism programs for delegates staying at hotels.

The Hanoi Department of Tourism guides travel agencies to select quality tourism products and outstanding and attractive tourism programs to introduce and serve delegates and international reporters upon request, and coordinate with hotels where delegates stay to arrange tour desks.

In addition, guide tourist attractions to improve landscapes, facilities, ensure hygiene, signs, instructions, and arrange tour guides at the site to serve conference delegates as requested. Hanoi Department of Tourism will conduct inspections and control the quality of services in the area, especially tourism services serving delegates to meet the needs of providing unique and quality tourism products.

It is known that the Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit was formed in 2017 based on the initiative of the Danish Government. This is one of the world's leading forums for promoting public-private partnerships, connecting governments, businesses and socio-political organizations to jointly develop breakthrough solutions for green growth. Thereby, contributing to the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The P4G Summit is held every two years and has so far been held three times, taking place in Denmark, South Korea and Colombia. Hosting this event is considered an opportunity for Vietnam to promote green tourism, strengthen relations with partners, mobilize resources for socio-economic development, respond to climate change and develop sustainably in the country.
