NDO - Upon receiving information that two critically ill patients needed urgent blood transfusions, five nurses and technicians from the Northwest Nghe An Regional General Hospital volunteered to donate blood urgently, contributing to saving the lives of the patients.


On the afternoon of March 12, patient HTT (37 years old) was being treated at the Obstetrics Department, Nghe An Northwest Regional General Hospital, in critical condition due to ectopic pregnancy, needing 2 units of type A blood for surgery.

As soon as they received the news, nurse Tong Tran Bao Quyen (Intensive Care Unit) and nurse Le Thi Minh Tram (Cardiology Department) immediately volunteered to donate blood, helping the patient overcome the critical condition.

Next, patient Truong Van Q. (70 years old) was admitted to the hospital in a state of hemorrhagic shock, septic shock due to a perforated hollow organ, requiring 3 units of type O blood for emergency surgery. Technician Nguyen Thi Dieu Quynh (Department of Laboratory Testing), nurse Nguyen Thi Ngoc (Department of Cardiology & Geriatrics) and technician Luong Duc Canh (Department of Diagnostic Imaging) quickly donated blood, helping the patient to have timely surgery, regaining his life.

Previously, at 5:55 p.m. on March 2, Nghe An Northwest Regional General Hospital also received an 18-year-old patient with traumatic brain injury, right occipital epidural hematoma and occipital bone fracture, requiring emergency surgery. In the urgent situation, physician Bui Duc Anh (Infection Control Department) and nurse Truong Thi Bich Diep (Examination Department) volunteered to donate blood. Thanks to these precious blood units, the surgery was successfully performed.

Medical staff are not only caregivers but also "silent heroes", ready to sacrifice for the health and lives of patients. These noble acts not only depict the spirit of "a good doctor is like a mother" but also spread profound human values ​​in the community.
