World oil prices today
World oil prices recorded a sharp decline last week. WTI crude oil was at 76.44 USD/barrel last week, down to 74.14 USD/barrel this weekend. Overall last week, WTI crude oil decreased by 2.3 USD/barrel, equivalent to a 3% decrease compared to last week.
Brent crude oil was at $80.58/barrel last week, down to $77.57/barrel this weekend. Overall, Brent crude oil fell $3.01/barrel last week, down 3.7% from the previous week.
Analysts said that the sharp drop in world oil prices was due to poor economic data in the US and expectations that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) would soon cut interest rates. In addition, disappointing economic data from China also negatively affected oil prices. Import and refining activities in China in June were lower than the same period last year.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On August 4, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities currently applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of August 1. Accordingly, diesel oil decreased the most, by 316 VND/liter. Mazut oil price decreased by 292 VND/kg, E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by 284 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline decreased by 281 VND/liter. Kerosene decreased the least, by 231 VND/liter. This is the 4th consecutive decrease in domestic gasoline and oil prices.
Gasoline discount today
Discount prices of petroleum products today, August 4, at some domestic petroleum dealers are as follows:
Pvoil applies discount rates on August 4: Oil discount of VND1,400/liter; RON 95-III gasoline: VND1,350/liter; E5 gasoline: VND1,150/liter. This discount rate is applied at Pvoil Dinh Vu warehouse, Petec An Hai, Cai Lan warehouse.
Tu Luc Petroleum discounts on August 4 as follows: Oil discount: 1,350 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,300 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,100 VND/liter.
MIPEC gasoline discount on August 4: 95-III gasoline: 1,300; E5 gasoline: 1,200; oil: 1,600 VND/liter
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices next period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. It is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, petroleum prices will continue to decrease.
Since the beginning of the year, since the price adjustment session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 16 times and decreased 14 times. Oil prices have increased 15 times and decreased 15 times.
