Domestic coffee price list on December 12, 2024 |
In Dak Lak province, in the 2023-2024 crop year, the total coffee area in the province is 212,106 hectares. Of which, the area for products is 200,441 hectares, down 400 hectares compared to the previous crop year, with an average yield of 26.72 quintals/ha. The total coffee output of Dak Lak province is 535,672 tons, down 23,057 tons compared to the previous crop year.
Mr. Nguyen Hoai Duong - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Lak province said that coffee is the main crop of the province. Coffee prices are increasing to a record high, averaging about 100,000 VND/kg, at times reaching 135,000 VND/kg. This is the highest price ever, 82% higher than the previous crop and nearly 3 times higher than previous years.
Global markets remain concerned about coffee supplies in major producing countries. The main reason is that rainfall has been consistently below historical averages in Brazil’s main coffee growing region, which has made the outlook for the new crop negative. Somar Meteorologia reported that rainfall in Minas Gerais, Brazil’s largest Arabica coffee growing state, was 17.8 mm last week, or 31% of the historical average.
Also concerned about the weather, consulting firm Hedgepoint in its global market report forecasts Brazil’s coffee output for the 2025-2026 crop year at around 65.2 million bags. Of which, Arabica coffee output is expected to be at 42.6 million 60-kg bags, down 1.4% from the previous crop. The firm also said its output forecast could change based on future weather conditions.
