More than 150 pharmacists from FPT Long Chau pharmacy chain participated in an in-depth knowledge workshop organized by Boehringer Ingelheim Company for the first time in Vietnam.
The workshop took place on March 8, aiming to improve expertise in comprehensive diabetes management and the spiral of the three hypertension - diabetes - kidney disease. Many domestic and international endocrinology and kidney experts attended, for example, Associate Professor, Dr. Alice Cheng, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Toronto, also working at Trillium Health Partners and St. Michael's Hospital, is an endocrinology expert in Canada.
At the workshop, experts shared about common chronic diseases and early treatment, solutions for managing and treating kidney failure for people with high blood pressure and diabetes... Ms. Huynh Thi Cao Thi, Director of FPT Long Chau Training Center, said that the two sides have cooperated and organized many training programs. However, this collaboration is more special, helping pharmacists directly study and exchange with a team of experts right in Vietnam.

"This is also an opportunity for FPT Long Chau pharmacists to gain practical experience and improve their 'real-life' skills in treating diabetic patients, thereby helping pharmacists to equip themselves with solid knowledge and provide good advice to patients when they come to the pharmacy," said Ms. Thi.
Ms. Suet May, Regional Product Manager, Regional Operating Unit ASKAN (ASEAN, Korea, Australia and New Zealand) Boehringer Ingelheim, said at the event that the role of doctors and pharmacists is increasingly important in patient management. Pharmacists provide medicines and also participate in care by guiding patients so that they can face the journey of overcoming illness and achieving good health.

The Because We Care program, including an in-depth workshop on March 8, is expected to encourage, educate and equip FPT Long Chau pharmacists with knowledge about chronic diseases such as blood pressure and type 2 diabetes, equipment, and supporting documents in the patient education process... through direct training sessions and online workshops.
Previously, FPT Long Chau has cooperated with many pharmaceutical companies to organize training programs for pharmacists on disease groups of interest to the community such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and blood pressure. FPT Long Chau representative assessed that this is not only a learning opportunity, but also enhances the depth of training, demonstrating the commitment to contribute to providing international quality and effective medical services to the community.
