BHG - After 2 years of implementing Resolution No. 82 of the Government on restoring and accelerating tourism development (Resolution No. 82) with the motto "Unique products - Professional services - Convenient and simple procedures - Competitive prices - Clean and beautiful environment - Safe, civilized and friendly destinations", the province's tourism is accelerating impressively.

After the Covid-19 pandemic, like many other localities, Ha Giang tourism faced many difficulties. Restaurants, hotels, and destinations were deserted, tourism revenue decreased, and businesses struggled to find solutions to recover. In that context, Resolution No. 82 was issued to orient the recovery and acceleration of tourism development in a methodical and strong manner, promoting the restructuring of the tourism industry towards professionalism, modernity, and quality, creating conditions to attract international tourists, attract investment, develop products, enhance tourism promotion, support tourism businesses, train human resources, and promote digital transformation of tourism. With a "handbook" to restore the "smokeless industry", the Provincial People's Committee promptly issued an implementation plan with the goal of attracting over 3.5 million visitors by 2025, total revenue from tourism reaching over VND 8,225 billion, contributing 10.34% to the province's GDP, building a provincial-level tourism area and creating 28,200 jobs in the tourism sector.

Accordingly, the province restructures the tourism industry, evaluates and selects key tourist markets, focusing on markets with high spending capacity; promotes product development linkages and connects tourism routes and destinations; supports businesses in innovating business models; promotes digital transformation; enhances tourism promotion through international diplomatic and communication activities; proposes to issue e-visas and improve entry procedures at Thanh Thuy International Border Gate; ensures security and convenience in traffic and transportation services for tourists. Prioritizes investment in infrastructure development at Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark and Hoang Su Phi terraced fields; speeds up the construction of Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway, upgrades key routes connecting tourist destinations. Organizes unique cultural and tourism events; builds the Ha Giang brand as a safe, friendly and attractive destination; develops agricultural tourism, connects with craft villages and OCOP products; Focus on training tourism human resources and improving management capacity for businesses. In particular, guide local communities to participate in providing professional tourism services.

Impressive acceleration has brought many outstanding results to the tourism industry. In 2024, tourism continued to maintain strong growth momentum, the number of visitors to the province reached over 3.2 million, an increase of 8.8% compared to 2023, reaching 102.6% of the plan. Total tourism revenue reached VND 8,149 billion, an increase of 15% over the previous year. The number of international tourists came from 186 countries and territories, the largest being the UK, France, Germany, and the US. The whole province has 26 travel businesses, more than 1,000 accommodation establishments and 229 tour guide card codes in operation; organized 47 training courses, training tourism skills for over 1,780 people, training in the fields of: Accommodation management, rooms, reception, food processing, tourism services at community tourism villages, English communication, tourism tour guides. The province has also actively implemented cooperation activities to develop tourism with 8 extended Northwestern provinces, Ho Chi Minh City, the cooperation group of 6 Viet Bac provinces and provinces and cities across the country. H'mong Village eco-tourism resort (Dong Ha commune, Quan Ba district) was recognized as a provincial-level tourism area. Digital transformation of tourism has been implemented synchronously and strongly, especially in communication and promotion activities, creating a strong spread of Ha Giang's image in the digital environment.
The above results are a solid foundation for Ha Giang tourism to enter a period of strong development, affirming its position on the Vietnam tourism map, becoming a unique center of discovery, ecological, resort and cultural tourism, contributing to the comprehensive socio-economic development of the province.
