Ta Xua, located at an altitude of over 2,800 m above sea level, is one of the highest peaks in Vietnam, located in Bac Yen district (Son La), bordering Tram Tau district (Yen Bai). Ta Xua is 240 km from Hanoi, has a cool climate all year round, and is famous as one of the most beautiful cloud hunting spots in the North.
The terrain of Ta Xua is narrow, steep roads, with hundreds of meters deep abysses on both sides. Visitors can get here by motorbike or car.
Ta Xua is truly attractive with its rolling, floating, layered clouds. Watching the sunrise or sunset in Ta Xua is an experience that many people enjoy.
If you are a lover of exploring the nature of the Northwest highlands and want to have the opportunity to experience cloud hunting, you will not want to miss the cloud paradise of Ta Xua.
When the sun in Ta Xua gradually disappears behind the mountains, giving way to the moon, the little remaining light glows red on the sea of clouds, creating a scene that is both romantic and magical, enough to conquer the hearts of the most demanding travelers.
But Ta Xua is not only an ideal place to hunt clouds, but also to see the Milky Way. If you choose the right location, on cool days, when the sky is higher and clearer, visitors will have the opportunity to admire a faint strip of milky white light across the night sky.
The moment of standing on the mountainside before dawn, seeing the whole scene of nature: below is the sea of clouds covering the mountainside, the horizon in the distance and a whole sky of stars is a moment that seems like it only exists in movies. To capture clear images of the Milky Way, you need a good quality camera so as not to miss this wonderful moment.
