Opening of Cau Ngu Festival 2025

On the morning of March 21 (February 22, At Ty year), at the Cultural Center of Ngu Loc commune (Hau Loc), the opening ceremony of Cau Ngu Festival 2025 took place, attracting a large number of delegates and people, children far from home, and tourists from all over to attend.

Cau Ngu Festival is a long-standing traditional festival of Ngu Loc fishermen, praying for national peace and prosperity, favorable weather, calm seas, good health for everyone, and fishermen catching lots of shrimp and fish. The highlight of Cau Ngu Festival is the procession and transformation of Long Chau. This is one of the most typical festivals of fishermen in the coastal areas of Thanh Hoa.

Cau Ngu Festival was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2017.

Cau Ngu Festival contributes to strengthening the solidarity of fishermen in coastal areas, and is also an opportunity to introduce and promote the Diem Pho tourist destination in Ngu Loc commune, connecting tourist destinations in Thanh Hoa province to promote existing strengths, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of localities. In 2017, Cau Ngu Festival, Ngu Loc commune (Hau Loc) was included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism under Decision No. 3421/QD-BVHTTDL dated September 11, 2017, affirming the longevity of traditional culture and the cultural beauty of coastal people.

Cau Ngu Festival 2025 takes place from March 21 to 23 (February 22 to 24, At Ty year) with many activities such as: palanquin procession, procession, procession and farewell of Long Chau; performance of festival drums, water music, incense offering at Diem Pho relic cluster; folk games, sports; art - Chau Van performance at Ngu Loc commune cultural center.
