85,000 candidates expected to register for HSA 2025 exam

From February 23, the Hanoi National University Examination Center will open the registration portal for all 6 HSA assessment rounds. The HSA 2025 exam is expected to serve 85,000 candidates.

Professor Nguyen Tien Thao , Director of the Testing Center, Hanoi National University, said that in 2025, the center will organize 6 HSA competency assessment exams, with an expected service scale of 85,000 candidates.

From February 23, the center will open the system for candidates to register for the exam. The first exam will take place on March 15 and 16.

Structure of the science section of the HSA 2025 assessment test

According to regulations, the system allows candidates to register for a maximum of 2 exams per year (as of December 31), with a minimum of 28 days between two consecutive exams. However, from February 23 to 4:30 p.m. on March 2, candidates can only register for one exam. The system only allows accounts to log in and operate on one computer device at the same time.

For candidates who want to register for the exam twice, the system will only open for them to choose the second exam from 9am on March 3 until 14 days before the exam (in fact, the exam registration will automatically close 14 days before the exam date). "This is to ensure that candidates who want to take the HSA assessment exam can take the exam at least once," explained Professor Nguyen Tien Thao.

Professor Nguyen Tien Thao also noted that when choosing to register for the HSA exam, candidates should avoid choosing an exam session that overlaps with the mid-term or final exam schedule of the high school they are attending.

After completing the exam registration, candidates must pay the registration fee and take the exam online within the next 96 hours. After 96 hours, if the candidate does not pay the fee, the exam session that the candidate has registered for will be automatically canceled.

The exam fee from 2025 is 600,000 VND/candidate/exam. The fee paid is non-refundable for any reason. The exam notice will be sent via email and notified to the exam account 7 days before the official exam date.

The HSA test is computer-based and lasts 195-199 minutes, and includes two mandatory sections: mathematics and data processing (50 questions, 75 minutes) and literature and language (50 questions, 60 minutes). The third section (50 questions, 60 minutes) allows candidates to choose between science or English. Each section may include one additional test question that is not scored.
