Earth Hour 2025 "Green Shift

Earth Hour is an initiative of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to raise public awareness about climate change and energy saving around the world. This year, Earth Hour will take place from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, with the message "Green transition - Green future".

Earth Hour is a global environmental event held on the last Saturday of March every year. The event has received a large response from organizations, businesses, households and individuals in the province. With the message "Green transition - Green future", this year's event is organized not only to call on the whole population to save electricity, but more broadly, to include sustainable energy production activities, increasing the use of renewable energy sources, using products and equipment with high energy efficiency, improving energy efficiency in both economic and environmental aspects. Each small action when resonated will create a big wave, bringing us to a greener, more sustainable future.

To spread the meaning of the "Earth Hour 2025" campaign, Vinh Phuc Electricity Company has proactively implemented many practical activities, calling on the community to join hands to turn off lights and unnecessary electrical equipment. Thereby, the meaning of the "Earth Hour 2025" campaign does not stop at 1 hour of turning off the lights, but also encourages people to make positive changes in their daily lives to join hands and contribute to responding to climate change and protecting the environment.

According to statistics from Vinh Phuc Electricity Company, in 2024, in just one hour of turning off lights and unnecessary equipment, the whole province saved more than 35,000 kWh of electricity. Actively responding to the "Earth Hour" campaign will contribute to raising public awareness of climate change and energy saving, while promoting the implementation of Directive 20 /CT-TTg dated June 8, 2023 of the Prime Minister on enhancing electricity saving in the period of 2023-2025 and the following years.
