12 projects won first prize in national science and technology

At the closing ceremony of the 2025 National Science and Technology Competition, the Ministry of Education and Training awarded prizes to 120 projects. Of which, students from Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted won 1 first prize, in the field of system software.

On the afternoon of March 21, the Ministry of Education and Training held the closing ceremony and awarded prizes for the National Science and Technology Competition for the 2024-2025 school year.

There were 12 projects in different fields awarded first prize, including:

1. Project on Developing solutions to support male reproductive health assessment at home by a group of students Nguyen Mai Khue and Pham Quang Phuc An, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

2. Research project on creating antibodies to neutralize Botulinum toxin Type A based on nanobody technology by a group of students Mai Tam Trung and Dang Tran Bao Anh, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

3. Research project on creating a strain of Vibrio Natriegens capable of synthesizing B-Nicotonamide Mononucleotide using metabolic techniques by a group of students Tran Vu Thao Phuong and Pham Huy Tuan Dat, High School of Educational Sciences, University of Education, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

4. Project on Zine oxide nano-particle system in self-cleaning and antibacterial application by student group Nguyen Anh Tho, Chu Duc Thinh, An Duong High School, Hai Phong.

5. Project High-performance lithium vanadium oxide oxidizing material for environmental treatment by a group of students Do Ha Phuong and Nguyen Duc Thai, Viet Duc High School, Hanoi.

6. AT-05 Utility Helmet Project by student group Nguyen Le Minh Khoi, Nguyen Trinh Bac, Han Thuyen High School, Bac Ninh.

7. Project on Applying deep learning in automatic music composition, aiming at preserving and developing Southern amateur music, by a group of students Nguyen Tan Duc and Ha Nhat Bao, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Ho Chi Minh City.

8. Talkie Vbot project - Robot supporting education for children with language disabilities by a group of students Huynh Huy Hung and Nguyen Nhat Tuan Kiet, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Da Nang.

9. Smart waste sorting system project integrating artificial intelligence and sound sensors by student group Vu Ngoc Anh and Vu Dinh Dang Hien, Nguyen Sieu High School, Hung Yen.

10. Self-propelled wheelchair project to support people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in moving and communicating, group of students Cao Trung Quan and Le Minh Hieu, Quang Tri Town High School, Quang Tri.

11. Project to identify influencing factors and propose a set of self-assessment criteria for choosing suitable university majors for high school students, group of students Do Mai Hong Anh and Nguyen Thi Linh Dan, Lam Son High School for the Gifted, Thanh Hoa.

12. Project Factors affecting the risk of psychological manipulation in peer relationships of high school students in Hanoi by a group of students Nguyen Vu Hong Phuc and Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Phan Huy Chu High School - Dong Da, Hanoi.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, from 212 projects (in 20 fields) from 74 units out of 62/63 provinces and cities participating in the contest, the jury selected 120 topics to award prizes. Of which, there were 12 first prizes; 36 second prizes; 36 third prizes and 36 fourth prizes.

From the first prize-winning topics, the Ministry of Education and Training will select topics to compete in the 2025 International Science and Technology Competition, scheduled to be held in May 2025 in the US.

Commenting on the projects participating in this year's National Science and Technology Competition, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Deputy Director of the Department of Quality Management, head of the competition's jury - said that the topics were diverse and rich, clearly reflecting the creativity and eagerness to learn of students, focusing on many important areas.

"More than a competition, this is a journey to help students practice critical thinking, problem-solving skills, systematic scientific research ability and the spirit of overcoming difficulties - indispensable factors in the technology era.

The important thing is that you dare to think, dare to do and have taken the first steps on the path of a young scientist" - Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha emphasized.

FPT University awarded scholarships to 24 students who won first prize in national science and technology

FPT University, FPT Corporation has awarded 24 one-year scholarships (first-year tuition exemption) to the first prize winners of the contest. These are also the first 24 candidates to receive the school's 2025 scholarships.

MSc. Tran Tuan Anh - Deputy Director of FPT University Ho Chi Minh City Branch, FPT Corporation - shared: "FPT University congratulates the contestants who participated and won the competition's awards, the young people who dare to think and dare to do, constantly exploring and conquering knowledge.

We believe that the scholarships are not only a worthy recognition, but also provide additional motivation for students to continue pursuing their passion for scientific research, self-development and continuous innovation, contributing to the country's further development and affirming its position in the international arena."

With a 1-year scholarship (free tuition for the first year) at FPT University, the first prize winners can study many highly applicable majors in the fields of science and technology such as: Artificial Intelligence, semiconductor design, information security, software engineering, information systems, digital art design, financial technology, etc.
