Go to the seafood market at 4am, try the local banh xeo for 7k/4 pieces
Coming to Phu Yen, the first destinations that tourists think of are Xep beach, Ghenh Da Dia, Nghi Phong tower... but Iryna Yang visited Hon Yen fishing village - a wild, peaceful coastal village, about 20 km from Tuy Hoa city center and very few tourists know about.
People here will go fishing every night, the market will be held early in the morning so everyone will be able to try the freshest seafood that has just been caught by fishermen.
Iryna Yang always wants to explore the daily life of the people in every land she visits. Going to the seafood market at 4am is one of her most interesting experiences. Iryna Yang personally chooses each fresh squid, goes to the market to "make pancakes" for breakfast... she has experienced interesting things that only locals know.
The most special is the squid pancake dish, priced at 7k for 4 pieces, made from fresh squid that Iryna Yang just bought at the market. Only by wandering through small alleys and temporary markets in the coastal fishing village can Iryna Yang enjoy this special pancake dish.
Banh xeo in Phu Yen is different from banh xeo in the South, it is moderate in size and made from rice flour soaked in water and then ground. The filling is mainly made from two types of seafood: shrimp and squid. The cake frame must always be sizzling with little fat, with bean sprouts on one side and fresh chives on the other.

Banh xeo in Phu Yen
Squid and shrimp are rolled with crispy rice paper and raw vegetables mixed with sweet and sour fish sauce or fermented fish sauce to create a very rich, attractive flavor that you can eat forever without getting bored.
A dish not to be missed when coming to Phu Yen
Also on this trip, Iryna tried another specialty in Phu Yen, also seafood but this is a very special dish, many people will be hesitant to hear about it but once they try it, they will be "addicted". That is the eye of the ocean tuna.

Tuna eyes - a must-try dish when coming to Phu Yen.
On average, a tuna weighs about 40 - 50kg, so the eyes alone can weigh up to 200g. After being cleaned, the tuna eyes will be steamed in a ceramic pot or stewed with Chinese herbs and then seasoned. The fish eyes are fatty, rich with a pleasant smell of Chinese herbs. This will be a dish that you will never forget when mentioning Phu Yen tourism.
During her 5 years living in Vietnam, this Eastern European girl spent all her free time experiencing Vietnamese cuisine. On her personal page, the most attractive thing is her culinary journey across 63 provinces and cities of Vietnam: Binh Thuan dragon fruit, Son La plum, Bac Giang lychee, Binh Duong mangosteen chicken salad, Hung Yen longan...
In each province she visits, Iryan Yang has interesting experiences with the locals as well as tries local dishes in a special way, creating a unique appeal for her clips.
