Phu Yen aims to attract over 4 million tourists by 2025

(Fatherland) - In 2025, Phu Yen aims to attract over 4 million tourists , including more than 50,000 international visitors.

According to Action Program No. 09-CTr/TU on tourism development investment for the period 2021 - 2025, Phu Yen tourism will develop in the direction of integration, quality, and sustainability; gradually increase the proportion of contribution to the province's GRDP structure, creating momentum to promote other industries and fields to develop together. Phu Yen will be a green, clean, safe, attractive, and friendly destination; one of the important links in the tourism development linkage between the Central Highlands provinces and the South Central Coast region.

Phu Yen aims to attract over 4 million tourists by 2025

Recently, the province has completed the Phu Yen tourism planning integrated into the province's general planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, as a basis to ensure tourism development in the right direction, with focus and key points. Effective policies have contributed to bringing about many positive results.

According to statistics, by 2024, the province will have 480 accommodation establishments with nearly 8,000 rooms. Of these, about 670 rooms will meet 3-5 star standards. Last year, the number of visitors to Phu Yen was estimated at 4 million (up 25%), with 30,000 international visitors. The report said that total revenue from tourists was estimated at VND8,000 billion, up 62.7% over the previous year.

Assessing the achievements of Phu Yen tourism in recent times, Dr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the National Tourism Administration, commented that in terms of tourism in the whole country, in general, it can be seen that Phu Yen tourism in recent times has had a positive change, rising above the average level.

In particular, planning and investment are promoted, technical facilities, service infrastructure, tourism products are increasingly diversified, tourism awareness has improved significantly. From there, the image of Phu Yen tourism has been formed.

"Statistics and reports show that Phu Yen tourism is making an increasingly important contribution to the province's economic structure," said Mr. Ha Van Sieu.

To continue developing tourism in the direction of integration, quality and sustainability, in 2025, according to the orientation, Phu Yen will continue to improve the effectiveness of management, conservation and promotion of relic values. In particular, the province will continue to implement local marketing solutions to promote tourism development; train and develop tourism human resources; enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of tourism.

In addition to promoting the implementation of approved tourism investment projects, the province will prioritize attracting investment to form a number of tourist areas to create national and international highlights in Xuan Dai Bay, Ganh Da Dia, Vung Ro Bay, Van Hoa Plateau... At the same time, implementing projects including the Phu Yen Geopark Project towards UNESCO title; Pilot project on developing rural agricultural tourism associated with the OCOP Program and the Phu Yen Province Tourism Development Project for the period 2024 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Along with that, promote communication, stimulate Phu Yen tourism on all platforms, strengthen tourism promotion and advertising in many forms, thereby building Phu Yen tourism brand with unique and distinctive features, making tourism truly become the province's spearhead economic sector by 2030.

The province's goal in 2025 is to attract over 4 million tourists, including over 50,000 international visitors. The tourism revenue target is to reach about 6,000 billion VND. By 2030, tourism will become the province's spearhead economic sector, welcoming 6 million visitors, including 600,000 international visitors.
