Mr. Ngo Van Duy (in Tuy An district) is the person who continuously discovered and monitored the two whales. He said that at around 6 am this morning (August 3), he and other fishermen were traveling by fishing boat through the sea area near the scenic Ganh Da Dia when they discovered two whales stirring up the entire sea surface.
According to the fishermen's observations, the two whales were approximately 10 meters long and weighed over 15 tons. During their journey, the whales continuously surfaced with their mouths wide open to feed. Notably, these two whales have been seen in the Ganh Da Dia waters for the past week.
“Every morning, when I travel by boat through Ganh Da Dia, I see two whales tumbling and looking for food. These two whales take turns surfacing to hunt for food, lasting about 5 minutes before diving back into the sea,” Duy shared.
As SGGP reported, in early July 2024, coastal fishermen in Phu Yen also discovered large whales appearing and feeding in the waters near the scenic Mui Dien (Dong Hoa town, Phu Yen).
In Binh Dinh, many fishermen have also discovered large whales coming close to shore to feed. Most recently, in mid-July 2024, many fishermen who were fishing discovered a large whale appearing near the scenic beach of Mui Ganh (Hoai Hai commune, Hoai Nhon town, Binh Dinh) to feed for many days.
Previously, in early June 2024, fishermen also discovered a whale weighing about 7 tons appearing and feeding near the Hon Seo coral area, belonging to the Ky Co - Eo Gio scenic spot (Nhon Ly peninsula commune, Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh).
