TPO - The Hanoi Urban Railway Project Management Board (MRB) has just proposed to the Hanoi People's Committee to allow commercial operation of the elevated section of the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway project from August 9.
MRB said the above proposal was made after the elevated section of the project from Nhon to Cau Giay was evaluated by the State Inspection Council (the final stage) and approved for commercial operation.
In order for the elevated section to be put into passenger operation, MRB proposed that the City People's Committee complete and put it into commercial operation on August 9.
Along with that, MRB proposed that the City People's Committee consider and assign tasks to relevant agencies and units. In particular, the Department of Transport directed the Department's Inspectorate to coordinate with the traffic police force and relevant units to unify the plan to organize traffic flow to ensure traffic safety.
The People's Committees of Bac Tu Liem, Nam Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Ba Dinh, and Dong Da districts organize environmental sanitation, do not let people dump garbage and waste materials on the sidewalks along both sides of the road, ensure traffic safety, security and order; deploy decoration items to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital at the station area...
The Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway project is 12.5km long, of which the elevated section (Nhon - Cau Giay) is 8.5km long and the underground section (Cau Giay - Hanoi Station) is 4km long. When the elevated section is put into operation, each train will carry about 1,000 passengers, each hour the train can carry more than 8,000 passengers/way.
